Thanks Matte_Art, yeah well its not completely done, still a tid bit here and there to finish and things, done soon though. Color bah, i don't really worry about colors myself, its light and shade first, then colors but heck most animals have a certain color palette, if you can't find one it isnt hard to make them up. Humans are the same way only real difference is we make things complicated with our range of colors. But for the most part i worry about the values cause im so used to pencils.

As for the lion, yeah it's not that bad but the paper i have isn't for pastels, better used on it's own surface and even crappy walmart special pre-made canvas, it sticks to that, with this stuff it just glides, do more wiping it off then blending it in. But yeah thanks I'd like to try a new traditional medium here and there im still getting used to digital as you can see too, so a lot of practice.

As for whats next, the dog above i started tonight, but restarted ad scraped 2 times and just decided to restart one last time and do it in colored pencil and see how that goes, sometimes things don't work out. But I don't believe in wasted art. More to come for sure, thanks again.

Superman?!, yeah was scribblin last night nothing serious, not a concept but just more or less a reason to mess with painter x's Pen brush/tool and see how it is, nice and clean, just doodlin'. I plan to do a Supes remake some day soon just for fun. Thanks for viewing.

Thanks for dropping by my sketchbook! I think you've got the basic digital thing down, but i think you should mix the colors a bit! It seems like you have basic blue : Light blue, medium blue, dark blue,. And same situation with green, try mixing light teal with dark blue or pink with purple or something, ( just a general idea) I think it'll make the picture more interesting, Here's an example of what i mean, This is a picture done by an artist in deviantart

Notice how he/she didn't just use blue, but variations of blue,: violet, teal , light teal, blue-violet, green.. etc

    hope i helped!

@rossipoo, thanks for the comment, I'll be definitely be looking into things like these.

Atm I'm not going to be updating this thread while i study (self designed study courses cause I can't afford to go to college again -debt-), Other then that, mite see a few small little tutorials with the things I learn along the way, just to share with people and maybe help them out a bit, maybe not.

And i have no idea how to delete threads so It'll just sit here i guess. Thanks for the comments.

Been awhile, but here are a few things.

Two simple tutorials I wanted to make available here as well (they are already on the tutorial section http://www.conceptart.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=42 ).

The sig features and links get rotated every month or so, I try to find people that I feel can be Inspirational to others or find people that I think need some love or just people I'd like to share with others, cause we all know how hard It can be getting noticed In the large sea of work posted here on ca.org and on other sites (I do sig features on da.com as well) , this Is just my little way of helping out. Feel free to suggest others though.

@JailHouseRock2, you're welcome and I appreciate the comments. More to come.

@ghoulio, Thanks, I try to dabble In different mediums as much as I can. Also good luck on the COW round I liked your entry a lot. Appreciate the comments.

That last pencil drawing is sweet man, can't wait to see the painted version!

Threw some ink over the pencils in painter, left the pencil layer underneath, without it it's hard to see whats going on, which i hope to make it more ''readable'' when i color it. Not sure of what type of style i want to color it though, really gettin into these painting styles i keep seeing here, really good stuff. We'll see. Small size for this pic.

    Hey ,

seeing the progress you have made on the green policeman is awesome !
and i'll bet it will turn out pertty good!

maybe you could redo some of the light / shadow balance maybe putting some highlights of the sun on the car or the shiny skin of this ... thing =)
would be really interesting if you could do some studys of different daytimes and lightposition

    Best wishes Xo.

Well decided to do a few life drawing studies, i don't do them often and i was looking through the sb's here and was inspired so. These are all done in graphite on newsprint (it's the only paper i have atm), not the best quality but at least it practice. Also they are from photos, since there are no life drawing sessions around where i am, that i know of.

About a hour maybe a little more on each, the males and the portraits took a little longer, so nothing complete just one a day for 4 days and i did the small portraits today. I do other types of studies throughout the day but nothing worth posting. Will do some in different mediums this week(charcoals, pastel, not sure what else). Thanks for viewing.

There are 2 of each because of the newsprint and the flash on my camera, so ones sorta how it really looks and the other is how it looks lit with room light, i just noticed difference is the values from both, so i posted both. A camera isn't the ideal way of getting a quality look at them but it's all i have and they are studies so i hope no one minds.

The female studies are done on 14x17 newsprint (don't mind that white ont eh first one, i was experimenting)
The males are on the same page and done on 18x24 newsprint

The 2 small portraits are also done on 18x24, they just take up a bit of the top.
Thanks to Troubadour for letting me use her(pix) as reference.

Hey Izer. I love your sketchbook - can't wait to see more from you. That last creature design is especially awesome. The complexity and detail of it is great.

On your last post with the figure drawings - Maybe it's me but there seems to be something wrong with the rear leg in the second drawing. Seems like it's not attached to the hip or something

Love the musculature in those male nudes.

I can see you've made a good deal of improvement in such a short time that you've have your sketchbook. You're new images paying attention to detail is really nice! My main crit is to re-evaluate your anatomy regarding your male figure's shoulders and arms. They sort of have that 'action figure' stiff look. Keep up the good work! Love the creature concepts.

@Kyokudai, Thanks I'll try to do more and actually update this, i do a bit of studing through out the week, just nothing worth posting.

@OneOfTwo, Thanks, I'll try to do and post more. Yeah I'll have to post the references used when i post my life drawing studies, mite help with the feed back. I'll be more careful when i do them though, i limit the time so things may not be perfect, but practice none the less, they should get better. i'll make it a priority to get the gestures and anatomy as close to spot on before i go about shading. Thanks again.

Nice design on that monster, and I rather like your hulk works.
You have some nice studies going on here, but I would suggest pushing your values more, just to build more definition/ volume in your works. When using just the same similar tone in a drawing, it tends to make the image look flat. Pushing your values will make them pop more

    Keep up the good work

@Karein, Thanks, yeah i'll study more on light/form/values in the future.

It's been awhile I figured I'd upload something. Even if it's a wip.

Harley Quinn -Game Over- Pinup (WIP)

Done with non-photo blue on a scrap piece of newsprint (14x17 or so), then back over it with mechanical pencil, not a very good scan. I'd like to color this if i ever get around to it. Part of my new sketchbook, I may do more comic women later.
