Well i spent to much time on this already so this will be it, no BG like i wanted to and its doesn't follow the pencil work as well as I'd like it too, there's still some saturation issues and things, but It was just practice so.

Critiques are welcome I'm rather new to digital painting/sketching/etc ( this is all photoshop, airbrush). Next up this week besides studies and a COW entry (mite post the studies) is a more painter-e portrait (using painter X finally for like the first time), any pointers with CPX are appreciated but over all should be fun for the experience and practice. Then a John Wayne piece, I'll only be posting the pencil work of that one though (It will be all pastel for final). Thanks for taking the time to view.

Fast sketches of DeadPool using Ryan Reynolds pix, nothing concrete/exact here just sketches for fun, mite color these or mite just scrap it. I want to do a full fanart piece for the upcoming DP movie staring Ryan Reynolds soon, so some fun for now. Anatomy and proportions aren't the best nor is the shading but i wasnt worried about all , it'll have to be inked if i go further, fix things at that point. DeadPool © Marvel.

nice sketchbook, your COW is sweet.

I preferred your pencil portrait to the digital one.

But then if you don't practice digi it won't get better :-)

Well heres some Painter X © practice, i 've hardly ever used painter because Photoshop© can be used for everything, but today i was watching Troubadour (and heres a link to her SB: http://conceptart.org/forums/showthr...&goto=newpost) also if you'd like to check out her painting live heres the link: http://www.mogulus.com/natsidraws , she was using a desktop viewer showing her use painter, and thought it looked far faster and cleaner then Photoshop, so i grabbed a lil sketch that was layin on my floor and tried it out, some practice and i think painter mite be my new fav:

Just like to post inbetweens. if you dont recognize the character its Savage Dragon (Image comics© By: Erik Larson ). Probably do some more heros and stuff just to practice will i do my own OC's and iI'll try different styles other then this painterish look. I Prefer more line work. Thanks for viewing. Edit: Forgot to mention posting size is 400 X 500, the original is 2000 x 2500 res 300.

@Ethically Challenged: Thanks, no i don't paint tradish much and im starting to use corel painter but i'll be doin A LOT of different mediums for fun.

Speaking of different mediums here a very fast sketch of a lion, some ref i had in a folder, It's just rough cause it will be colored using pastels , which im sorta new too and indian ink and calig pens, this is just for fun just to jump around a bit. Also this is done on newsprint so i dunno what the quality will come out as. I wanna do 3 of these in the next new days different subject of course and different mediums, ink mite be the only one thats in them all. Dunno any suggestions etc. is appreciated.

EDIT: Fast Base pastel pic, need to back away from it from time to time, theres a lot of blending and bordering i need to fix but its fun learning. Prolly just start some ink and fix some stuff and be done, nothing long.

EDIT2: Some more pastel, gunna just ink, not sure what im will do though yet..., probably do a bit more blending withe the pastel, this stuff is messy but i think with some practice and patience it will be fun. Took longer to update cause i spend the last 45 mins looking for my camera charger. Sorry for the quality. So this is more or less my last 3 hours or so, rather fun and big too, the paper is like 18x24, and i found out thanks to this newsprint doesnt last long even with soft pastels, so maybe i ll try plain large white paper.

LAST EDIT: Last one i will add its just practice so not that good, fun though, also found out ink wouldn't work with the paper or the pastel, probably the papers fault, the pen i was using was a nib calligraphy pen, so it cut rite through that crap newsprint so i just through a bit of colored pencil on there which is fine. So one night 4 and some hours so wasn't to bad. More to come.

Hey thanks, yeah i have a lot to learn but i learn by doing so ima do one tomorrow as well, try to get the hang of it as well as other mediums as well here and there. I gotta slow down and remind myself of values and proper blending, it gets so messy that its hard to be slow. More to come for sure though.

@bharat: Thanks, I'll post more as I go.

Finally got to do some more corel painter practice and on some of this, still a bit more to and im learning as i go, gotta do the watch and fix the arm(right) add more details here and there some more clean up(as you can see i left brush marks everywhere) and more blending of course. If you dont recognize the character its Savage Dragon (Image comics© By: Erik Larson ). Probably do some more heros and stuff just to practice will i do my own OC's and iI'll try different styles other then this painterish look. Thanks for viewing. Comments and such appreciated (especially digital users, but anyone is fine).

This is just a fast sketch of a little dog i wanna pastel tomorrow or the following day, this is extremely low quality picture as well as the sketch itself, there is no reason for me to be detailed and exact, (unless of course someone would like me to render it out in pencil). Otherwise It'll all be covered up with pastel later so its just a rough sketch. Doing another rough sketch as well tonight, probably a portrait, and still have some work to do on some digital stuff as well so. Also note that this is just fun, and its large, i think im workin with, large 19x24 paper just drawing paper i don't own any pastel specific paper atm, will pick some up some day.

Just wanted to post more progress on this.

WIP3, this will be the second to last post before i call it done, spent far to long on this as it is. It's gettin there, also this isn't exactly what it looks like the quality is crap (small file size), and i overlapped the WIP2 which is a flattened and cleaner version for posting, the original is still in layers and quite messy but i 'll clean that up when i get read to flatten (fix the arm/hand among other things). Comment and suggestions are appreciated. Time to work on the puppy (above this post). Thanks for viewing.
