    P.O.W.! Challenge 20--Final Poll

Final Poll: P.O.W.! 20: BUGS! (as History)

We do have four entries up for vote. Congratulations to everybody who fought their way through to the end. I also posted Donalfall's page entry at the end even though it didn't qualify for the poll because I thought it was a hell of a start on a nice idea...

The voting will be open for roughly two weeks. Vote for one artist, and just to remind you--the theme is "BUGS! (as History)," with any interpretation you felt appropriate to your story. The art could have been either black and white or color, so don't let that sway your vote.

Artists are posted in alphabetical order...

Tough pick between two options this time, but in the end I voted for Hapun. I really liked the stark style with its minimal colour scheme and well-placed panels. The writing was quite powerful and moving too. Good job.

shannanigan: I really liked yours too. It had great, fun artwork. Nice tongue-in-cheek style to your writing too, but I'm afraid you were pipped to the post by Hapun.

I forgive you because you used "Pipped to the Post"... LOL!

I voted for Cap'n Kitty because the fake German and French had me laughing so hard I was in tears. Hilarious!

I had a really hard time voting on this one... Hapun is closer to my personal preferences in approach, rhythm and color, and is absolutely beautiful, but I ended up going with shannanigan because she pulled off making the entire thing look like a period piece--art, text and expressions all rolled up in a style that made me believe I was there as a bug about the time it happened. Both absolutely lovely and concise pieces that anyone would be proud of...

...and shann', I'm so proud of you for making it through that nonsense on mine... One of my favorite pastimes is playing (badly) with language and accents and turning them into nearly-understandable gibberish.

When I first saw it I was thinking... that cheater he wrote it in German!!

But then I started seeing the words were actually phonetic spelling of German and French accents speaking English... and I decided you were a brilliant mad man. LOL!

Most of these (except mine) are too good to vote in a hasty manner. I'll have to get to it early next week when I have time to pick nits. I'm very impressed about how good they are considering they were made by people who have lives they are leading in the meantime. (well actually: "good whether or not you consider that" is more to the point)

Oh wow, after reading shannanigans post and then going back to Ilaekae's entry to actually decipher what his captions were saying( I missed it the 1st time), I agree, he's a brilliant mad man. Maybe partook a little too much during the 60's, but brilliant nonetheless.

I thought that too Shannigan! Hilariously deceiving.
Wish Donalfall finished his, would have been awesome to see the rest.

And don't say that Art, your entry had brilliant narration, it just wasn't finished!

Thanks Hapun. Yours got my vote, and not just cos it would intersect with page two of mine. The death of the ArchBeetle Ferdinand was what caused Beetelo Mussolini to declare that the Communist Internatabeetle was dead. It's fun to ram in "Beetle" into everything.

Ilaekae came very close to getting my vote. "SUCK RAY BLUE!" is fantastic pidgeon french. Hilarious. I'll make sure to get POW! 21 done. My pet eh?...
