    MicroVisions

I was honored to be invited to participate in MicroVisions. Twelve artists each do a small, 5" x 7", painting to be auctioned off benefitting the Society of Illustrators, NY student scholarship fund. It is organized each year by Irene Gallo, art director at Tor, Forge & Starscapes Books, and Dan Dos Santos, artist. There is an incredible list of artists participating. Check out the links for details.

The fact that you "love doing this stuff" allows you to sing wonderful impossible songs in colour. So enjoy your work. Inspirational, glorious, thoughtful. Very very cool.

Very interresting post indeed. Surreal, intriguing, with funny recurrent elements and characters. The line is neat, the colors are tastefull.

    Episode 73

This is for a Twilight Zone show at Gallery 1988 in SoCal. Always been a fan of TZ so this was something I couldn't pass up. Plus this episode has Billy Mumy in it. My hero from Lost in Space.

    I'll keep posting

I'll just keep posting my strange little things as long as I have a brush to work with. Here's the thing. Someday some strange director is going to want to make an incredibly strange animated movie with my incredibly strange little characters. On that day I will become a concept artist and you will all love me like I love you.

I hope that days comes real soon, cuz the waits too long and hard. and about the love part, we love YOU, I love you.

I dont, at times understand the narrative, but then again I dont think you mean it to be like that.
But there is a quiet way your pictures their own stories, and its nice to look at them and get along with the stories.
I wish I could meet you and see you your works in person sir.

    Take care,

Thanks. It's always nice to know that there is room on these boards for strange implied narrative things. bhanu, when I do kids' stories and illustration my pieces can have a more direct narrative but when I'm doing my own work I love for the narrative to develop on its own. Would love to meet someday. Maybe a quick trip to India.

    Show Stuff

Just more work for an upcoming show. They haven't kicked me off the site yet so I'll keep posting. So here's a little detour.

Build Your Own Carnivorous Bot. 3x3 inches on copper. A series about toys that really should be recalled.

    For a book about vampires.

It started growing toward the end of the meeting. I hate meetings.

Thanks. I'll keep posting as long as people keep looking. These are traditional. Mostly acrylic on copper and paper or wood. Bhanu, i wish I could appropriate the word bloody. Love it. Just sounds funny coming out of my mouth.

bcarman, these are eerily beautiful works! The haunted expression on so many of the characters lures me in to try to "see" what causes their angst.

You are obviously a wildly creative (read that as a sick and twisted ... LOL!) human being. I LOVE every one of them and applaud your fantastic art!

Thank you for posting these. They are a joy to view.

everything looks so interesting, like i could look at it for a very long time. that very last flesh creature really shocked me. I absolutely love the design and the creepy birds. Those teeth make a quick statement, but the wrinkled up skin was what made it for me ^-^
