Hi all! Just want to introduce myself a little bitI'm an animation artist mainly using Flash as my tool of the trade.
Here is a quick Flash animation exercise I did as an exercise of a swinging movement.
Let me know what you think!

lovely movement on the hair and legs..really nice!! ......more!
Oh gosh this looks like animation on paper. Your flash skills are impressive!!
pld:
Wow. Just WOW. Beautiful work. It's so flowy. I love the way her legs follow her. How do you keep your lines so clean in flash when hand-drawing them? Mine always wobble all over the place as flash snaps them to where it feels like they should go. Like egerie said, it looks like you did this on paper. I want to just keep watching it. You need to put it on more loops so I don't have to keep hitting play!
Hey thanks all!!!
The clean work was way longer than the animation ruff in fact. I tried to hide the Flash-ish look by cleaning with both line tool and brush tool when thick and thin line was necessary.
All the key frames were drawn, so no tween!!! But lots of copy and past thoughHandful copy and paste!!!
I do such animation exercises once in a while, so I'll keep posting on this thread![]()
sweeeeeet
beautiful work. I'd like to see more of this character, like maybe her playing with a little kitten, or trying to fly a uncooperative kite.

woow this is really nice, the movement of the hair, legs, arm, face and the swinging.

Excellent, it doesn't look "webby" at all!
Hi all!! ^_^
This is another Flash exercise I did. A bit older than the previous one. A small character design I was working on for a comic project and ended up wanting to animate him. Not so sure what he's running from... anyway XD enjoy!
yey... cool! i love your sweet and playful style! so nice, makes me smile!
that first one was... life altering.
anyways the second one is pretty freakin good too, but I think the pause right before he changes directions... that take, isn't reading as well as it could. Because its a little too long to read as an accent on the next part of the take, but just short enough to not totally give the audience time to figure out what exactly he is doing with his face there. I think a few more frames, maybe a little less static of a pose would be nice. But overall sir or miss, these are some bitchin tests.
Hey thanks a lot!!!
batcustard: You are absolutely right! And I guess not figuring out what he was actually afraid of and running from before animating was also a mistake. The acting would have come out better knowing those facts. And that take/pose issue you were pointing too.
I think I'll try to readjust it in that way and post it again!
Oh! And I'm a misshehe
drawn flash animation. great job. . . i'm a student and am very picky about my animation, figured i'd try to be helpful and picky about yours too.
on the swing (which is beautiful) it feels like the hair goes back before the wind actually affects it. to motion is great but the timing seems a little off.
and the scared kid doesn't feel expressive enough. a more frightened gesture when he sees the thing that frightens him would make all the diference.
still both pieces look good
. . . nevermind, second look at the swing. . . and i must say it's perfect the way it is. but i'm standing strong on the scared kid though
. . . beautiful work
Great work!
Thought I recognized some stuff.. stumbled across your blog a couple of days ago, I suppose. Great stuff on there as well!
The tests are good. On the second one, I have a suggestion. Have him walk on a normal tempo, looking back like he does(shown very shortly), he look's to the front, get's freaked out and runs away. Thought it might be a nice contrast, from slow to fast.
Keep it up miss!
awesome as always![]()
