Thanks for the advice, Sony. In fact, he is a man. I´ll try to draw more masculine faces from now on.

It looks finished to me. Color and atmosphere are great. My only crits are that the ape's posture looks more comic than threatening (big floppy foot and head turned away from the man) and the man's pose looks too rested. It could be more dynamic.

Nathan, Otto: Thanks a lot for the comments.

Nathan: You´re right about the ape pose. I tried to make him scream in pain and couldn´t find the right expression. As for the lack of dynamism, it´s because I don´t use to prepare the poses in advance. I try to fix them later, but obviously it is not enough.

    (M) artist: I didn´t really tried to make it look realistic. Might be I´m sometimes too influenced by Disney. I love their sometimes irreal water splashes.

Key, Sammael: Thanks for the nice compliments.

Here´s a new piece I´ve just finished since I read somewhere Disney had just greenlit (again) their "Snow Queen" version. Hope you like it, though it´s got nothing to do with the one before.

Oh my god, I just discovered this smiley. XDDDDDD

I love your colours and lighting. Your composition is quite good also. I agree with the previous critiques on your forms and poses though, perhaps you should get into the life drawing, I'd be a big fan if your poses and anatomy was as good as your colours!

I see what you were trying to do with the blood in the first one, I think you just took it a little too far and it broke the illusion of your lighting.

Just expanding on the topic of dynamic poses, I think it's definitely worth planning in advance, at least until you get more comfortable with them. Try to focus on the general direction of movement and plan the movement of the smaller forms around that. For example, the ape is halfway between charging the man (thrusting forward, extremities extended and trailing backwards) and recoiling from being discombobulated (body retracting, rotating with the direction of the blow, extremities closing around the torso for protection). You have to go with one or the other, that's why the pose is weak atm. I think the pose of the guy is confused in a similar way; there's no strong line of action and he's about to get run over by the ape, so he doesn't look very heroic.

Definitely read up as much as you can on this stuff and keep producing, you're doing great

I really like your last piece. The background is very nice - and the face and clothing of the queen are very impressive and spot on for the topic.

To also critique a bit: What I dont like so much is the lower part of the image. It is mostly noisy - which is generally unpleasant to look at. Blurriness and texture are of course good tools to use - but a bit more general structure is missing there to lead the eye.
For some reason my eye is also very drawn to that half. Not sure if its just me and why it is - maybe because its the brightest area. It might add that there is also most of the detail (even if its random). But of course it would help the image if the face would become the centre of attention.

Great work though - lookin forward for more

I absolutely LOVE the Snow Queen! There's a slight Kay Nielsen feel to it.

    Spookybabydoll: Thanks fot he compliments.

Thomas: I guess you´re right. As you can see in my sketchbook, I didn´t really know how to resolve the background and the bottom of the image. While I wanted to add some effects to the front version 2) I didn´t want to lose all the detail I had already drawn on the clothing (version 1), so I chose an inbetween solution which messed all up. I´ll try to take care of your advice next time I deal with so many textures. Thank you.

Poshpice: Thanks for introducing me to Kay Nielsen. Awesome work, by the way.
