awesome painting! your painting style seems very good for putting down the lighting. to get that rid of fibery render, just paint over it with a quite large brush and with more than 50 (many use 100) % opacity (hardness seems a matter of preference). keep it up!(and don't make us miss that delicious accent of yours in the vent
)
Some mountains!

Ange!
Good work so far, the human figure looks great, keep up the good work.
Nice start.
Just work on brushstrokes, and fix up hammer lady's values.
Thanks for the comments!
What do you mean by that exactly?Just work on brushstrokes, and fix up hammer lady's values.
nice work for someone ho has only been drawing for such a sort period
Stole a digital camera, here is what I've been doing with pencils in the past 2 days.
There were more bridgman studies, but sadly they came out really badly in the pictures so there wasn't much point in putting them in
Wouldn't let me upload these three![]()

Why thank you bapsitron.
Spiffing start old bean!
I think you have a real eye for colour and line, 2 months is nothing, and if you haven't been using your eyes or your hands in that way, I think they show great promise.
Apart from suggesting the usual suspects; hogarth, bridgeman (whom you already seem to be investigating), loomis as guides on artistic anatomy and useful concepts...
just (keep) play(ing) with your drawings, and perhaps spend more time on one, pace yourself, set yourself a goal.
What do you wish to learn (proportions, value, composition, dynamics? EVERYTHING?) or how do you wish this particular drawing to look?
Remember "Study without desire spoils the memory and retains nothing that it takes in", for the future!
Perhaps think more along the lines of "I'm not trying to make finished pictures to view, but records of my thought processes to aid my understanding".
Please... take my advice and make me a hypocrite for it, because I definitely need to take some of it myself.

I have a scanner at the moment, but the damn thing is slow as all hell. Here's something, though:
couple more, off to Paris now so the rest shall be along later...
Keep it up elderberry hamster machine cake, ok?
Okies, incoming pretty big sketch dump. Most of it studies or from imagination, with a couple of studies from wesleyburts stuff which is pretty much amazing.
Good to see anatomy studies, especially since you seem to be tackling the hardest parts. Hands and feet. (And you're doing it so well, keep it up)
My sketchbook, if you really want to see it...

Scanned some stuff in from yesterday, but the scanner decided to annihilate the drawings. The scanner is so slow that I adamantly refuse to scan them again, so meh. But you can at least see roughly what I've been trying to do - develop more accurate lines with less mess and lots of arm and torso studies.
PS nim is joining the cult of troels?!
