now another quick environment, im not really happy with (perhaps i compare myself too much with master sparth) but i fear there is not enought depth and no clear lightsource, how could i improve that?

anatomy studies. Learn how the two masses work in the body more (the chest and pelvis area). Learn everything about anatomy you need work here and their in most areas. Sorry if i come off harsh but thats how it is... Dont worry though! i wasn't very good either but i just practiced at it and got better. So it'll work well with you as well! Perspective is a bit of a nag to get right, i personally think it goes 90% science and 10% feel.

Hey man. Thanks for stopping by my book. I like what you have got going here. The mech girl on page 1 is great. With these last two, you could try to limit the number of brush strokes you use. Use the biggest brush you can. It will make your paintings go faster, and give them less little distracting lines. Nice stuff nonetheless.

Thanks for dropping my SB. A lot of people have touched on the anatomy, I'll be doing the same. A lot of your figures seem to be rather elongated. Long torsos, legs, arm etc. You should try and do some figure drawing with out a costume and get a strong foundation as to how the figure appears without clothes / armor / robotics etc. That will give you a better idea as to where those costume pieces will really interact with the figure.

You may also want to work on some simple more focused studies. Such as different body parts, or perspective.

Keep in mind you've only been doing this a short time, so keep at it, you are doing some great work.

You seem to have learned a lot in such a short time. I think you have nice ideas and concepts. Just practise more anatomy and image composition to get everything out of your ideas. But like I said, it's quite good already.

Nice sketchbook so far. I like the amount of wok you put into your pieces and soem of the thoughts/concepts/design ideas behind them.

Things to work on:
- Anatomy. Heads are a little on the small side. Torso is too long, hips too narrow, hands to small, and legs too long
- VAlue wise, I think some contrast is always needed, but you tend to go overboard
- focal points on the image need work. To draw attention to a certain aspect of an image, you have to be comfortable to leave some detail/value/colour at bay in some areas of the image

Hello, nice stuff you got here. I think maybe it would be an idea to grab a couple of anatomy "sheets" and look at them, your torsos are a bit long, etc.

Working on the basic shapes will help you a lot, and stuff like Bridgeman will help you see the basic shapes in a body, I think. You might find that Loomis or Vilppu is more up your alley though, Vilppu might help you find a little more flow to your characters so they don't look that stiff. (I'm totally struggling with stiff poses myself, gesture drawings helps a lot with that though )

Keep cranking at it, seems you're going somewhere. But training the basics will always make you stronger and make those first sketches go a lot faster and hit the nail more on the spot right away

In the end, thus far, your designs have been awesome. I'd suggest to work heavily on anatomy studies and try to correct the elongated torso problem you seem to have. Costumes are awesome.
You'll be there in no time, just work on proportion to the maxx!

The metal soldier armor guy looks awesome. Your best IMO, but dont hide the feet. It feels like you didnt want to draw them. Draw about 20 or 30 sets of feet or boots, and watch yourself improve. It's like magic. I suck at boots and clothing. Also draw the hips with the torso a few times and watch yourself make more magic.

it looks like you are doing a lot of work, and getting some nice speed and thats important. I might suggest to slow down a bit. Study some more portraits or anatomy from books, or clothing and really say, "Okay, 1,2, or 3 hours, I dont care, this is coming out perfect today" instead of "how many pictures can I finish today" . And remember your purpose would be the replication of the image if you were studying, and not the conceptualization. Which you have way more of than me my friend.

When making up my own stuff I find myself constantly fixing things I dont like, or trying something new if something isnt working. Moving an arm or drawing the pose and getting it's balance and proportion down first.

You also have more guts than me by trying to tackle color. I dread the coming days learning color because I will be most frustrated.

Some neat digis here, but 'ill have to chime in with the other posters about the anatomy thing. You seem to be able to wing it up to a point when you're puttting together a character, but it still shows that you could have a better grip on the underlying construction here and there. I know it can be boring stuff (on the surface!) but it'll help you tremendously in the wrong run to grind down on your knowledge of bones and muscles. On another note, that last purple enviro's got some potential.

I'm not sure where you would look but take a look around your area for some life drawing classes or drop in sessions. Maybe just inquire at a local art gallery if you don't know where to look? If you started to draw alot of figures some life your anatomy will look much much more beliveable!

You have a good sense of atmosphere, and I hope you keep at it!
