Here's my harshest crit. Stop doing photo studies.

Read this post by Mentler So this is not just me talking

This would mean drawing from life more. I guess photos have their place... but the great masters in ancient Greece didn't have photos.

I've used photos to get gesture from in the past, but I think Mentler's right.

the neck seems strange.Check it out. Will crit more later.Dont leave the blendings/graduations that rough. You must render render render following the 3d surface of the things. And dont use to many values. You can always put highlights in the end, easily.

    Hey jatherip,
so I did a quick paintover of your face in #516.
Just remember the form of the skull, no matter how quick your sketch is never paint just a face and do just some hair around it. The cheekbones are also important and pay attention to the lighting and the values of a face when it is hit by it. Also think about which parts make the face look feminin...
For the skintone colors you should always mix it a bit with the background color.
Well I'm tired if you want to know what I meant, dann frag mich einfach.

i would say on the wip step face that the eyes feel alittle large maybe. the skin tone needs more rendering and the hair feels kinda strange. it would come more down by the ear. also the ear looks a little long. saying that blexano seems point alot of that out any ways. keep it up man your doing great!

Dude, those still lifes and the selfportrait are great. Your colors are really nice as always. The nose and lips look strange on the first portrait though.

    Hey Rip...

You're getting away from photos and drawing from life, out of your comfort zone. That's great. Really dig the scissors and the self-portrait...BIG improvement there.

Although that scarf still looks Nancy. And is that lipstick?

Cool shit man. You do so much in one day lol. But yea the last sketch is what ive been missing from you. A more finished rendered piece. Good job on that one. But you could still push it just a little further XD.
