tablet not working properly

Anyway, I just bought my first tablet yesterday. So I installed Photoshop but there are some strange problems.

1) Once in a while, the pressure will be full for a brush stroke. I press the pen very lightly but still, once in a while, the pressure is full for the duration of the whole stroke.

And I don't have this problem in GIMP.

Here is a screen shot, I pressed the pen with the same pressure for all these strokes.


2) Whenever I placed my cursor in the top of screen, it simply starts to click rapidly. I can't find any explanation for this problem.

Oops. now, these problems are driving me crazy. Please let me know if you know the problem.

Have you tried updating the drivers ? That usually fixes most problems..

-Did you install the wacom drivers? play with the settings

-Open the brushes palette in PS, play with the settings in the "shape dynamics" section.

Could be brush lag, does it happen with small brushes or large ones?

Never heard of that but I have seen wacoms behave weirdly if they're to close to your monitor, does it still happen if you move it well away from the screen?

First problem disappeared after reinstalling my PS.

And yes, I updated my drivers right after I bought it, so it's not a driver problem.

Second problem persists.

The distance doesn't seem to affect the second problem. As long as it is in the top corner, it starts clicking. Same with the MOUSE too.

I only have an old G3 so I'm guessing here but..

Are you maybe activating the touchstrip with your hand when you move to the top corner?

Is it possible that you've somehow defined that area of the tablet as a hotkey? (no idea if this can even be done btw..)

I mapped the tablet so that the top 1000 is not in use. OOps, it works now, but it's still goddamn annoying.

Discovered the cause of the first problem. I accidentally pressed the double click button on the pen. LOL~~~~~~~~~~

The first problem reappeared after two hours. Lol, I'm tired of Photoshop. Maybe I'll try some Painter.
