    Lorin's sketchbook

    Hello CA, my name is Lorin, im an 18 year old male living in South Africa. I have just become interested in art these last few months due to someone introducing me to all of you here on CA
    anyways, heres my stuff, advice and crit would be appreciated

    2 random enviros, no idea how to use photoshop yet and an apple i did after reading bumskee's intro to ps art, these are my first 3 digital drawings ever will start posting hand drawn stuff as soon as i get my camera fixed.

    a pastel followed by an acrylic (920 mm by 610 mm). Then some random reffed sketches an studies. My aim at the moment is to learn anatomy, basic photoshop rendering and then take it from there.

    Please crit and give any tips/ advice you think of

    Nice looking pics! You have a great imagination indeed. You shouldnt use so much pure black on your paintings though. Use something between dark brown, blue or red or something instead, makes the whole piece look more "breathable"

    Hey! thanks for stoping by, ummmm your studies with photoshop tand such are nice but they look a bit to light. Try painting from a reference. Like a plant inside your house and such and really look at all the darks and lights.

    Your traditional looks good though, try blending the colours bit more in some of them.


    Oh and there are tutorials on how to use PS on this site. Just look around a bit and you'll find them.
