I like all your banners that you made for everyone, its funny you don't have one for yourself! (a finished one that is) Whenever I see them, I can hear an announcer's voice in my head, like a movie trailer!

Edit: I see that you guys decided on one now. Cool idea.

    character concept: tactical sniper (loner)
    one shot - one kill

    weapon concept: sniper rifle

the idea is that we create a sharpshooter that are to hunt eachother. be creative with your designs and gun-play.

    setting:
techno-industrial (dirty & futuristic) desolated industrial city surrounded by dead-grass plains.

    what do you think?

    juicy_fruit:

the "samuri skirt guy" looks to me like it is from the movie poster of "gladiator". fenix used it as a background for the banners he made for eveyone when thunderdome 7 started..

earthlink was hosting his images and pooped out because it was recieving too much traffic. i am guessing you thought it was a person or something..

    *slaps fenix* glaglaglaglagalah!

    Arrow progress so far:

i sketched out a guy and a backround.

i am liking my colors so far, but i think i am jumping in too quickly. i would like a better pose, and better understanding of a chacter first.

i enjoyed looking at what others had to share and i opted to show my progress.

    wow. Great stuff guys .

Hey F3nix, Is the resolution of the .jpgs the resolution you work at? Just wondering 'cause I'm not sure what res I should be painting at. Unfortunitly if I paint at a resolution that high my PC lags .

i work in 150-300 dpi documents. I like big canvases and the ability to put in small detail. my t.dome PSD got corrupted somehow, so I have to work from a screenshot that i took of a WIP. But i'll manage.

shit killing that is some of the best concepts i have seen come out of you , great work,

F3nix, the boots on your character look super realistic, if you could take the whole character to that level of detail, its gonna be a blood bath between the two of you.

    awesomness-

fenix ur cutting too many realistic images into ur art i can tell.
ur art is way different.. wider lighting then the complex boots and in the first image u can see the cut lines where u snipped it.. and parts of the pants are real.. cmon man u can use them for reference but dont combine it with ur image
    grrr roawl!

Whoa now. First of all. I don't paste any photos into my art. I take huge offense in that accusation. I did all that you see here myself. Execpt for the sky and ground, but thats why i took it out later on anyways. As for any clipping you see, i clipped that out of my own drawings, because like i mentioned above, my .PSD file got corrupted and I had to use a WIP screenshot to work from.

    Update:
Changed lighting a bit, and upped contrast a bit around the image. Also plannin on slapping more tattoos on him.
Toying with the idea of planting him in a post-Apocalypse Times Square. Was watching Final Fantasy : Spirits Within for inspiration.

Mike: yeah, alot of people have been telling me that the paint seems more like light projected through window blinds or something, I'm trying to come up with a solution (changing the direction in which they're going, the color, etc.) The anatomy porblem you're seeing is that he has a Pinhead-Antatomy. Tiny head, huge shoulders, small hips and legs. I didn't mean to do this but, I came to like it. The pose is kinda stuff, I'm working two other pictures of him at the moment. But I'm sharing this one so you guys have an idea of waht my character looks like.

sry for the accusation or watever but u gotta admit man.. if ur working on putting in that level of detail to prove you did it its a good idea to take some screenshots.. btw if u want help with the light.. walk infront of blinds.. cut the lights when its day out and take a picture (no flash) make sure the camera shadow isnt in the way of ur face and go from there.. u can take close pics n stuff for further detail

p.s. ur bullets look like mini paintbrush with that inward fall.. use a reference on sniper bullets

    Unhappy the immortal fenix,

it's hard for me to muster anything.. i hope you are not taking advantage of others' good integrity.

    at anyrate,
adding specular highlights should solve the face paint epidemic. turning down the brightness on his forehead should help make it look less like projected light. dont overwork the boots, the cigarettes are a little small,

    anyway,
i am going to have to pull myself from our thunderdome thing, i am not going to be able to finish a peice.
if you decide to finsih yours, i would ask you please remove my photo.

sorry again fenix and anyone else, hope you can understand.

yeah, so anyways. i believe you about this much {} that you didn't cheat in some way. the style and quality of the painting of the boots is completely different than that found in the rest of the piece. the highlights in this boot picture match up perfectly with the ones you "painted".

i'd like to see your photoshop layers to see how you *cough* painted this... oh wait, the .psd was conveniently lost.

and on a slightly related note, your guy looks nothing like a sniper. you have created a commando.

even on your web site your "self portraits" look like photos with photoshop filters run amok.

    snore.

why would you say he doesnt look like a sniper?
I think he does, and is there are problem with using refference for a picture, i think thats THE best way to learn,
you drawing realistically, can you just draw anything without being sure what it looks like, i doubt it.

anyway F3nix and K.P your works are great, cant wait to see them finished...
