I highly recommend checking out the fallen angels at http://www.amazon.com/How-Draw-Fallen-Angel I will admit I am not soooo happy with the chicks, mainly because the helpless beauty, bitch ex girlfriend and/or biker type...just seems a bit one dimensional, especially compared to the males. Not that the female figures are not great, just typical.
The males have a 3d explosion of personality and grit. They are wickedly brilliant, eye poppers. richly illustrated and dude just plain brilliant. btw the book will not teach you how to draw..but it does provide great reference material.
the reason I have been visiting this particular sb for awhile is because of the illustration tidbits I pick up. The gestures of the face, the movement of the pieces. Zombies make for an interesting study in understanding form, shape, lighting, contrast values, movement, etc. I love the emotional vibe from the works. Not only that I am consistently amazed at the commitment it takes to finish a project. I just wonder if the Buckus sleeps??? considering the amount of work he produces.
btw..thanks for stopping by....and what does editorial mean when you are talking about another's work?
oh and since I am writing so much...I wish you would take your drawings a part and teach an old dog the thinking and skill tips behind the work. I would buy the book... lets face it there are never too many anatomy books or how to books in the art world.
