Norman Rockwell right? or was his inspired from another painting? I can't imagine so, considering that time period, but I'm sure his inspiration came from a concept of the dinner table.

Do you start with a sepia underpainting or just go straight to whatever the color it is?
If you do both, which do you prefer?
O.O woah. you are amazing. o.o I feel so small and amazing when I look at your work.

You, sir, are the modern equivalent of Da Vinci, Michelangelo and the like. There's a perfect harmony between knowledge of anatomy and creativity to paint an image that pulls a viewer in in your images. I can only wish to become just as good in both fields as you are.
Check your favourite Imaginary Friend's Sketchbook here (oh and don't forget to say hi)!
Insanely good work in here! Friggin awesome.

Mr- Joe,
It's a spoof on a Norman Rockwell painting for National geographic.

NickyBeats,
hey thanks man! Your last post 2434 was fantastic, great sketch.
been following your work on facebook for over a year now, really nice to see it all together up here. awesome stuff man.
Mike you are true master of technique and creativity! The posters are amazing as usual. How did those hilarious watercolor biker dudes pop into your mind...how do you approach work like this, where you obviously have to step way out of you comfort zone regarding what somebody is used to draw.
Ps.: i'm talking more about my comfort zone than yours. I think your comfort zone is everywhere, which i only can assume must feel quite cozy!
Crazy amount of work in here. And every bit of it is insanity. I have to agree with NickyBeats, totally aspire to even have half your ability. One thing I say every time I come here is, "Damn, I gotta work harder!" lol Don't quit posting anytime soon Mike.

Thanks Mike for the step by step it looks and sounds so great. Are you painting with acrylics to do this rather than oils? I can't help but wish you were one of the instructors coming to London for the Conceptart workshop as I would love to see you demo something like this.![]()
Thanks guys!!
