I really enjoy your journey thus far. It feels like you have a lot of range and vivid imagination. I also appreciate the fact that your not afraid to explore tough color palettes. Those can sometimes be the most rewarding ones.

Your value scale comes into question for me here and there. I think you could have a wider spectrum of values, which would help you describe your forms in greater detail. This last piece seems to have a solid range of lights to darks. I would encourage you to push it even more in future work.

    Lovely work. Cheers!

Thanks for the feedback Lunarsis, appreciate it!

Been commuting to work 4 hours a day the past month so had not much time to ut on any personal work, mostly on weekends. Been sketching a bunch on the train though so might post some of those later.

Got some stuff to show anyway.

Bought a canvas and tried my hand at acrylics again. The painting started well then I made some bad design decisions and in the end safed my way out.

My biggest observation was my inability to keep loose as was intended. I'm too afraid to stay abstract for a while which is quite the opposite to how I work digitally.

It's still fun stuff though. Will do more, will do better!

    Alrighty, Self-Portrait day!

On a side note; painted over all my old canvases. Thinking of trying some kind of Andrew Jones style with integrating cut out patterns and painted faces n such.

Also the reason for not posting so often is my start on sculpting. I guess there'll be some pictures of that in the near future.

    Stay tuned!

Okay, no clue why I haven't got around posting anything since new years so I thought it was about time. Hope you've missed me

So this means massive post. I'll just dump most of the stuff I've been doing on my spare time during the year.

    Random digital stuff...

    Less random digital stuff...

    Intended as tattoo design.

Been working on some sculpting as well. This fella will be painted some day.

And last and not least, I've been practicing acrylics lately, moving down to A3 format made things easier to control. Will probably do more of these in the future.

    Cheers!

PS: Will try to post more often

Nice update, your paintings skills have gotten a lot cleaner. I like the clay work, with all the juicy sagging skin and weight in the form. Cool tattoo design, you have been busy.

Thanks man. I am tempted to focus more on sculpting. Haven't really decided what I want to do next on that though.

Been doing some stuff for this weeks CHOW. Been coming up with a design of myself as some kind of Sorcerer. Will probably take the larger sketch to painting stage. Was thinking of doing traditional on it but may take it to PS instead due to time and potential correcting of mistakes.

Conte: Thanks a bunch man! Checked out your portfolio and it was definately not the first time. Great work!

Trying my hand on this weeks CHOW. Modifying workflow a bit. Usually do not draw ney lines for photographed sketches but might do it more often. Noticed lines need to be thinner as I tended to lose the shapes a bit when painting over my thick ones.

The goal with this one btw is to keep it grayscale but add some reds in the ends. Perhaps even tint the whole image at some sepia even.

Interesting chow entries. I think entry 260 the guy's limbs and waist might be on bit of the thin side. I like the consistent turnarounds.

Done some new sculpture work. Calling this Balloon Head. Design was more or less unplanned. Maybe not that much happy with it but it's good practice. Needed something to practice painting as well.. Got some ideas for new projects.

A last wip pics of the new one and right before it's baked.

Started some acrylics. Following the theme of this weeks CHOW, well sort of at least.

Thinking of doing more quicker paintings just to get more comfortable with it and play with colour.

Photographed some of my drawings I did a while ago. The first one came to me through a rather disturbing dream.

Not that happy about the Mayan painting so I started a new one. We'll see how this goes.

When I do drawings and stuff I'm somewhat happy with I put them on the wall, cause I got a lot of space.

Man, you are really good with clay. The wrinkled skin and bone structure looks convincing on the Balloon Head Guy. Just one thought is I think the neck might be a bit thick for him. But you already baked it. Still looks good.

I think K-chen has one techique is you sculpture a critter half way, photographic it. Then paint he rest in photoshop to flesh it out. So you can even finish off the legs if you wanted.

Appreciate the feedback PigeonKill! Will try to get some wips up on sculptures before finishing them off.

K-Chen eh? Is that one of them featured on the front page of CA? I've read about some artists using simple sculptures as reference for their illustrations. Nothing I've tried yet though.

Progress, starting off with just values this time which is something I do rarely nowadays with the exception of usually having an adjustment layer with no saturation to check up on things from time to time.

Been further developing the design of my hourglass mace.

Oh and here's the final image of my mace thing for the competition at polycount.

I've also updated my portfolio site, writing my own gallery window thingy in javascript, trying to get it user friendly.
