_Mr_M_'s Sketchbook updated every now and then

    Hey guys,

after i stalked a few skeetchbooks here on conceptart for a while now, especially algenpfleger's, i thought i have to register now!

My name is Marian (m), i'm from germany and i'm 17. In my spare time i like to draw, even if i'm very lazy... but those inspiring threads here made me want to change that. I have to apologize for my bad english but maybe even that will change in some time!

I don't know how often i will post here, with new sketches but we will see and i hope you can help me an tell me what do do better and maybe even how to do that!

If i've done something wrong with the images tell me, my first post
All with references, done in pencil and acrylics. (Not anymore, newest painting.)

    Hi there, welcome to CA!

You are off to a good start with the pencil drawings of the female heads. Too further improve on you knowledge of the face i recommend that you take a look at the planes of the face (try googleing "Loomis Drawing the Head and Hands" - that book has some really good explanations of the planes of the face).

After you have the larger planes down and, more of less, committed them to memory, go further into the details (nose eyes etc). For that i use "Bridgemans - Complete Guide to drawing from life".

Drawing from life is also very important.

Well that is what I'm doing, i dunno if it will help you .

Anyways i also just started my journey here on CA, a couple of months ago. Hope you keep updating

    Hey!

Jeah.. i draw those heads from fashion magazines to get a better feeling of the proportions and to improve to get so good that i'm able to draw from head.
I've already read Loomi's! Maybe i should read it again, to get a better feeling 'cause i think i did not take everything with me. (baaad english o_O)

Drawing from life.. so draw something i see e.g in front of me, right?

So jeah, let's see how we improve! And now i'm going back to draw! I'm so lazy, so i must kick me in my own a** to get back to drawing

off to a good start...yeah drawing the planes of the face will help you in rendering in light and shadow..loomis is good for that..try copying the drawings with the planes ... you've got pretty decent proportions in your faces..keep it up !

Hello. Like everyone else said, you are off to a good start...also like everyone else said, you should read loomis and draw the things in that book. and the boxers that you asked about, i got them from the website mmaphotography.com. For anatomy i also recommend, books from authors like Bridgman and maybe Hogarth. Hope that helps

    Happy Drawing

So another update. Some bad hands! I'm going to read Loomis again in the following days.

If anyone could tell me how to upload those pics the other way ( i think theres another way, without those thumbnail frames..) i'd do it that way cause i could post descriptions to each of those uploaded sheets.
    Sry, i'm dumb

So here we go. Have a nice day!

Some sketches i did today. All from head, except that smiling woman on the top.

I still don't have read Loomis again, only the first 20 pages or so.. but i think even that helped me in constructing the head better!

The girl is a picture i'm sitting on for a while now. It's totally painted from a photo so nothing special about that.

Thanks guys. Your commets keep me going, im motivated as hell! But I don't have, or shouldn't have any time do draw or paint 'cause there are my final exams in front of me and I haven't done anything yet for school... -.-
And all in all I draw really not that often to get better..

@ Koto, man thanks, but most of this is with references so nothing really special about that. But I'm very happy with ArtRage, which I discovered through your sketchbook! Thanks

@ JailHouse, as I said before, it's with reference and a little bit of help from the color picker so it's not that good. But i hope to improve fast, so then we see...

So here's my second try with ArtRage from head.
