Thank you for giving such a detailed answer, it is very much appreciated. I know it was a newbie question but it is still interesting nonetheless to know what a pro uses.

I think I'm gonna experiment more with harder clays and really work on getting finer detail down, and maybe move away from sculpy/feemo.

Looking forward to seeing more of your sculps, very inspirational.

Great jengling jellybabies ... I really like these sculpts my favorite is jackpot ... It is the best one Ive seen... It probably ranks equally with others but I like it best because of what it repreasents. I cant een explain why ...I know I like it though very VEry nice sculpt

I could easily spend a long, happy afternoon just looking at the textures of any of your pieces.. every single one is so convincing: convincingly young, old; thick fabric or thin, very believably slimy and chilling, so much so that I wouldn't want to touch some of these, for fear that I'd be grabbed!

Thank you too for taking the time to discuss your materials, and why you like them. So many people, I think, just use a material for no reason other than that they hugely admire an artist that uses it; and end up very frustrated. .. I know this, because I've done it myself, more than once. .. so, it's great to get input on just why it is that you use the clays you use, why you like the ones you like, and dislike others.

Any artist that has a deep relationship to their work understands exactly the feelings you mention. I myself have been rewarded, humbled, abandoned, revitalized, knocked on my ass, and deeply educated by the phases of art. Like a passionate, stormy relationship, it has it’s highs and lows. When my art abandons me....I try to enjoy the break. It does come back again! The fact that my work may have triggered a bit of inspiration to you is worth all my sleepless nights. My words may seem like romantic bullshit to those standing in the shallow end of the artistic pool...but it is the way I truly feel. Thanks for writing and sharing your thoughts...your note means so much to me.

Evan - awesome to read your post and am very familiar with your work. Your sculptures is AMAZING and really translates what you are capturing in your work. Although I am a new sculptor and have yet to complete a piece, what word of advice would you have for a guy that just can't stop ripping the clay off of his armatures?
