Battle of the Sexes TD--Gentlemen Post Finals Here

This thread is for the posting of all final entries by your gender team ONLY. You can post WIPS if you feel you need some help, but make sure we know what your final is for the poll.

Try to keep trash talk and chatter in these two threads to a minimum, unless you're offering advice.

You don't HAVE to post early--you can wait til last minute, but if you would really like to get some input from your fellow competitors, this is the place and time to do it...

I know most of the Ladies have probably been using the Ladies Only Forum for this purpose, so just to be fair, we're making it possible for the guys to do it, too...just in public.

Grandma, I would pick at most two, because otherwise, you'll be watering your own impact down. Concentrate on one or two and get 'em to the highest level you can. Most of your competition are going for one highly controlled piece, but there's actually never been anything in the rules about entering more than one...

Go Granny! I agree with Jazz W, the deer hunters, I would try to drop the dad's shoulders he'll look more comforting to his sad little boy.

Grandmother, I know the deer one is the one to do, I woke up thinking about this one and how my brother wanted to be this big tough little kid, we went out shooting targets and he decided to try at a bird, shot the bird and then started crying because he felt so bad he killed it for no reason (he was about 6) this is a loss of innocence and will be a great story piece. The Dad's hat placement is a bit wonky... just up high... nice.

Perhaps, I fail somewhere along the conceptualization and/or articulation of this thing here. I'm interested in exploring the loss of innocence as the conflict between the way things are and the way they "should" be. I'm thinking along the lines of unfulfilled dreams, desires, etc and the destruction of hero types.
So here I'll try to communicate the loss of my first dream, that of becoming the spaceman.

grandma, you might want to reanalyse your composition, you have a dead tree walling off the entire left hand side, as well as the gun and figures being very static, horizontal and vertical with out atthing to lead the eye around, the compositional welements of the orange are forming a composition
but I don't really understand whythe dad is smirking and taking off his son's hat.....

tsujni, nice you've stepped up and I like it, do you use painter? Beautiful colors and you should do one of your poems for this piece, not joking. Nice.
Granny, I agree with Chaos, she offers good things.

Spaz, Kelly, I'm uncomfortable with calling any of my word collages "poems".
I say collages because I don't write poems, I assemble them from others work.
That work can be a song, poem, literature, pop culture, etc - However, they are always someone else work, I just rearrange and re-read. Although, your suggestion that I create an arrangement to accompany the image has gotten my attention. Thanks!

    Kelly, all done is PS.

Grandmassa, thanks and I gonna try an crit your composition. I just have to think a bit.

    That's gorgeous, tsujni!

Makes me less apprehensive about doing my own piece, since I don't do the concept-art style; I was a little worried about doing something actually conceptual.
