Agree, lovely vibrant colours! It could just be me but the reflected red light on the bananas looks a little bit strong... I'm terrible with lighting though so I could be wrong.

I really like the dark red-brownisch shadows of the bananas and the rosy highlights of the peaches
You should do more of these!!

And i am looking forward to see your sketch update.

WARNING! ACHTUNG! ATTENZIONE! THIS IS A LAME UPDATE!

So here's the Late night/early morning sketch that i did, with my eyes almost closed.
My own hand and foot.

A still life, i somehow lost the passion in that piece, so i left it like this, to not ruin it completely:

Now i've been talking to Mex on skype he gave me some nice tips and advices, and once again i heard it's better to draw with a pen. On this sketchbook page you can see some pencil habbits like on that jug and teh flower, total fails.

On the bottom is a guirella sketch of my mom reading a book.
( the hood of the sweatshirt that's on a chair is totally messed up, it should be located more to the left :/ )

Here I also drew her, but i've played around abit with this ssketch, added headphones and a bun.

P.S I need to get ab iPhone check this out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BY5Q-0cuBOM

stop putting your self down man this is a Sketchbook and everyone knows that sketchbooks have their ups and downs just like we have in our lives, I just post whatever I have unless it's hideous^_^ don't be bummed to post work you think is less good!
And besides how will we be able to assist you and give you critique if you only put the best stuff? this is about the learning man and then impressing your friends.
IMHO I think those cherries are really good, you got nice contrast/shading/light there I like it.

You are totally right Danny, but i get overwhelmed by my negative feelings sometimes, especially when i look sketchbooks of such people like Miles, so young yet so skilled. Then I'm like oh noes! Why can't i be like that yet!?
You get the point guys.

Anyways, here's a little ninja/assassin piece I've started.
I'll prolly work more on this, and make it a finished piece.
Just a silhouette for now.

Yeah man I was totally discouraged today and the last 2 days in that matter, but you know what? I sat my butt on that chair and forced myself to continue with Bumblebee and when I saw the outcome I was full with motivation again! Heck I am not going to let anything to stand between me and my dreams, I guess you just have to find that sweet spot of yours to get the motivation back, I just found one for myself

Now Miles, you don't have to be overcome by bad feelings when you watch these guys sketchbooks on the contrary it should fill you with motivation and the will to become just as good and even better! you can believe me, Miles is just like Hannes a hard worker, you work hard you see resaults that's all there is to it man as simple as that, there are no magic formulas or short cuts, it's actually quite amazing I have spent about 13 hours on Bumblebee by now and learned tons! I mean tons! I just threw some quick sketches today of some psychiatric federal facility units I had in mind (which I will share soon ) and you know what? suddenly I see some new things, I see new approach to color to Tonal value and shape, it's just amazing I was quite surprised myself, just from spending 13 hours drawing metals and planes I learned more then I was aware of! and because the reference is 3D model it's quite a safe bet because it's very realistic.

So you see my friend it's all about the hard work and dedication nothing more nothing less.

All i can say is nice ninja silhouette so far, because i'm in a sort of slump right now..

But please don't stop!!
If you get over this too, i'm sure you'll progress real soon.

Why? Hmm..perhaps because you're at your limits and that's the moment the big progress starts?
I think i should listen to myself more to cheer myself up lol.

Anyway, take care!

The more i look at it the more i dislike it, indeed head is decent, but i think overdid the textures abit.

Nevertheless i did learn something from that, especially "be carefull with using the textures and custom brushes"

Off i go to work on another piece.

P.S Cris i've added yours and Danny's sketchbooks to my signature, to bring even more people, so they can share their knowledge, cheers me friends.

Yo yo yo! awesome update colors are great! the concept is great too, since the first sketch I saw the potential in it. I do like his stance kinda of relaxed chillin with his sword on his shoulders, although it could use some more work adding some more weight to his right side would make it look more real, but you will learn that only through figure studies.

some areas are too dark so I gave the form more attention because the legs were swallowed in the darkness, also I gave him a bra, chest lift, it was a bit too low, and there is no reason for the swords behind him to have such heavy fog, as if they are 2 blocks away from him, making them a little duller and abit brighter solves the issue.
we gotta do tons of figure/anatomy studies man, gotta make these concepts come to life!

my suggestion slow down on those speed paintings and concentrate on the basics, anatomy, values, edges, color in that order, the speed will come as you progress.

strong concept bro keep it up

You have got some ace stuff going on here. I would suggest working more on rendering. I would love seeing you work on one object and get it as lifelike as possible! just my penny. keep at it!

Well i can see everything very clear i think is the monitor display issue.
Thanks for pointing the weight stuff tho, he surely could use tweaks you syggested, afterall he's wearing some light but still metal armor.
You great!

And haha I'm glad, that you like my new signature

Hive_minD

Thank you for the kind words, well the next project will be prolly more rendered, as this is going to be a character concept for a game project.

Less talking, more action here's the character i'm currently working on.
Here's a city guard initial sketch, something in eastern, persian like style.
Not sure it will be his final outfit yet.

EDIT: adjusted version with some quick idea for another shield design, still waiting for team acceptation before i will start to render it.

Me likes! nice design bro. here's a tip use the upload manager to upload your pics to CA and then use the following command ( without the spaces) you can click on the pictures you uploaded to see their Id number and that's the number you put between the ] [, this way you can write between pics, because photobucket may remove your pics especially if it's nudes and then you just have missing links all over your sketchbook which I often find in others.

Speed sketches update, well with this i see how much my drawing skills suck,
I've ordered a pro book of Sarah Simblet, going to study alot from it when i get it.

Some handsfrom Bridgeman. I didn't do theese in a looong time and it shows, 2 of them beneath the center of the page were done using a gel pen, the right one failed to be real and looks alienish hah!

Some quick sketches of my feet, i sat in front of a mirror to do these studies, i was shocked how much weird feet can look like, incredible.

And this ledies and gents, this is my masterpiece back from when ICEy was 5
Found it today in old documents, my precious ^.^
It had some potential to it, as our bug starts from complementary colors, blue&orange hahaha.

Ooo The precious one!! I really like seeing stuff like this, from a looong time ago.

Your hands look good, and of course they would look even better if you do more.
Those feet are really good, and i soo love the values of the 2nd one!!

Now about your guard and your ninja, i think danny said it all in the previous post:

Uhm i think i have major problem when it comes to shading in traditional media, thus i don't like those feet that much, but thank you for the kind words :*

Now about that guard, sorry but no can do, I'm a member of a team that are developing a computer game on our own, so i must do some concepts from time to time, but it's a great practice also. Don't i have to think of anatomy when i draw a humanoid character, hmm?

Ok here's a still life from today, it's more of a color study to be honest, made from scrathc with only chalk brush.
Ok off i go, anatomy studies await!

EDIT: OK here's a 20 min selfportrait with anorther version which i spent like 5 more minutes on, to be honest i didn't like it and i spent 5 more minutes,
but sadly my camera batteries are out of power so i don't have a picture of it yet.

Nah, you're just drinking too much and don't get enough sleep, T_T
Oh and that Polish guy with the Yakuza girl in the bathroom is W I C K E D! I was looking at it for 5 minutes, thinking how he even could push it further by adding all kind of clues to what happened, like putting a knife on the floor maybe or a hand laying on the floor but you cannot see the body, really awesome work he has.

HAH! Lol you learned to draw a tree That is actually quite hard to draw right haha.

Nice seeing you making fun of it, and getting back to your drawing, taht you have motivation and ideas.
And i wanted to say you are stubborn and blabber about the importance of anatomy, but then i saw you say that you're off to anatomy studies so it doesn't matter any more heh

Awaiting your next update!
