OOOh nice colour work.
Id like to see you put a bit more emphasis on describing form using lighting, if you look at your stuff you are using the silhouettes alone to describe the form, which isn't good, (though it does show that you have good silhouettes.) I think the most prominent example is this one.
one
whoooot
great colour here
work your forms more make it more interestin
you have a great sense of colour
maybe work up a silhouette?
see ya later
@muzzoid: Yeah I need to brush up my skill in describing form using lighting. I noticed that is one of my big mistake when doing speed painting from my early attempt till now though not as frequent as it used to be.Thanks again for pointing up the problem!
@hunchbackmagee: I will explore more on silhouette in future sketches!
Two old 30 mins sketches I did last year.
New sketches to test some of my newly made custom brushes (for the environment) while balancing with my college stuff. No ref.
Darn I need to dig up Loomis books and brush up my anatomy skill.![]()
Quick doodle in Painter Sketchpad.
For odd reason whenever I export the images in JPEG, it looks fuzzy.
hey huey
great work on the last portrait
you ve had this interesting watercolour feel to your work
looks great![]()
A more refine sketch of my old speedie work
Two more speedies
![]()
your speedies are quite nice, i also like your silhouettes.
Been busy with college stuff so not many sketches from me till early March.
The third pic got abandoned halfway so it is just a half assed work..

Wow, your digital painting is really great. You seem to have a strong grasp of light and colour! Keep it coming.
.......you call thoes speedies ??teach me or ill cry

Wilko: Thanks! I'll be posting more old stuff next week since college stuff is choking me up.
L0rin: Yup speedies since I spent less than 1-2 hours for most sketches. You can look at m@, vyle or pao sketchbook which are some of my fave speedie artists.
Straseenpenner08: I do have lots of old pencil work. Will remember to post some in future post.
Here's something different than my usual speedies. Actually it is just old stuff I did for college assignments last 2 years. The first one is Prismacolor colour pencil on colour paper and the second one using watermark texture in an artwork digitally.
Obviously not as fun as doing speedies but sometimes we just have to do some finish work once in a while.

So I manage to get a copy of Photoshop CS4 and manage to play around with it. Heck Photoshop CS4 have make me neglected my college assignments.
I absolutely love the brush resize shortcut which actually speed up my workflow since I not used to right clicking to open up the brush menu to adjust the brush size. Not to forget the dynamic canvas rotation. Now it behaves more like Painter.![]()
Two more speedies from me done in Photoshop CS4. 2 hourish each.
EDIT: Another 2 hour speedie before going to sleep.

I really like your environments. They each give off a different feel.
Thanks nananin!
20mins quickie without ref after a long day preparing layers for my animation in After Effects:

Good job ! I like your use of the light !
But last character...he's "rigid" and the hands are too small I think...perspective problem ?
T.a.i.v.a.s 's sketchbook
Alew's sketchbook
Walid's sketchbook
( If I don't speak quite English, you can correct me ! )
I look for a mentor !
@Taivas: Now that you mention it the hands are kinda small. Will fix it later after I wakeup from my slumber sleep. Thanks!
That painting for daniel craig. Hot.
I really like your speed paints. Environments seem best so far. Keep working!
One hour speedie and gosh thunderstorm at my area so going to shutdown my comp before any unwanted things happen. Will upload 2 more sketches later.

Your enviros really show perfectly how one gets better by exercising. The onses you posted from last year are a lot flater and uninteresting, the new ones are really special. Though you definitely are overusing the typical "two people coming over a ledge and seeing a gigantic impressive panorama before their eyes". I say change that up a bit. Nice work so far.
Also, if you study anatromy as much as enviros you would be even better.
Cheers
Janos you are really right about me. :p Been doing the same thing all over again is really a bad habit of mine (which you are going to see it again in this post lol).Since I'm going to finish my study at college this coming April, I'm going back to basic training to brush up my fundamentals from scratch again.
Here is *ahem* another two people over a ledge speedie again. Both are less than 30 mins each because of thunderstorm few hours ago that forced me to shutdown the comp.

4 hours paintover of a rough back alley model did in Sketchup. The textures are all taken from CGTextures. Kind of stump in the end maybe cos this is my first time doing a paintover of a 3D wireframe.;P

Nice sketchbook :-)
I can see lots of David Levy in here! I've done his tutorials too.
Look forward to more :-)
@Alextooth: Thanks! David Levy's tutorial is one of the best I've ever done and actually kickstart me to do more scenery work.
So my college study will coming to an end soon and darn I need to push myself more when I have the free time.
Some more crappy 1 hour speedies:
I actually started out drawing seriously with manga style way back in 2000 and occasionally draw in that style once in a while and less when I go to college. ): So more crappy manga work ahead--
