    DSG 1446: Sci-Fi • 1-2 PERSON CAPACITY ROBOTIC VEHICLE BRAND-NAME "CHEETAH"

    .

[ A sleek, super hi-tech robotic running vehicle, is the idea I was trying to get across here... ]

[ Don't worry about background, but do include at least a human silhouette for scale if it's not clearly apparent. ]

I've been meaning to try one of these, but wanted to wait for a fresh one so I wouldn't get subconsciously influenced by other peoples ideas. This reminds me of that amputee athlete with the "cheetah" prosthetic legs. Have to see what I come up with by tonight (no internet again until I return to work XD ).

    *Update 01/20*
Apparently jinxed myself (got insanely busy), but was determined to do this anyway. William pulled off what I wanted to do far better than I ever could have, so went with my second rough idea which was multi-terrain type vehicle (using legs or wheels) First land vehicle design attempt ever. Stopped after about 2 hours.

Did some sketches before I came up with this one. I was concerned how people would get in and out, eheher. Total time was about two hours and a half:

Hmm, my trusty server finally went down after 3 years of noone paying for it. Oh well, photobucket time!

Could've went farther with this one, but it was starting to eat up my time. Tear it apart please!

Edit: Added a rider for scale.

i was having a few creative issues in attempting to make a cheetah head into a futuristic car and in the end just ended up doing a study of a cheetah head - its not finished but i was very pleased so i thought i would post it - may have another go at a vehicle a bit later

Second attempt - went away from the car idea and went with a superbike instead, kept it pretty simplistic, but i like the clean look

lkjhgfdsa - That's very cool. Has a distinctly underwater feel to it by those patterns...

So, again I participate in my own forum -- Who'da thunk it?

j.s. sabastian --- i like the extreme pose, that one leg way up says this thing can really flex.
kawaookami --- its so clean I could see it as a toy.
fportugal --- I can see it doing mega jumps, thanks for posting the sketches underneath...its cool to see your thinking of it animated
copilotdork --- I like the armor...lets see some gears and mech stuff underneath next time. we both need to go research some more parts to add to our robot visual vocabulary.
Smashed_Pumpkin --- awesome use of the contour!
MephistonX --- all the little effects are great, but the orange shape is bothering me....next time spend a bit more time on molding out those basic 3D shapes before running wild with FX...and I will do the same : )
lkjhgfdsa --- wow the color choice is just keen!! I'm observing this and trying to meld the organic with the mechanic myself. you have all the elements here...the pose is sweet...keep blowing us away!
William b. Hand ---- classy ad style!!!

Went back into this... just playing with colour, and tightening up a few points here and there. I still prefer the first version, I think, but it was fun poking around at this further.

Don't ask how to enter that thing! Bur you get your feet dry in floods and are even able to outrun wildfires.

Like the ideas that came up in this thread very much.

Excellent DSG. Some really cool images. Some great 3D models could be made from these robots cats.

I figured, if it was a running vehicle, there would be bumps and whatnot, so it would be difficult to have a person sitting up--they'd fall out, or something. So they have a secure strap in mechanism, and a place for their feet and hands.

SOUTHERN - Beauty! It'd be great to see a 3D version of yours! I love the pose, the guy, and the cheetah vehicle -- all. The sketching style and design aesthetic quickly puts me in mind of Keith Thompson (a most excellent artiste to be reminiscent of, mind you). Only crit: The legs on the other (its left) side are confusing...

    ...Hey...

Did you steal my little crescenty dots? Seems like an awfully unlikely coincidence that we'd both decide to do those...

WBH: Thanks for the compliment and I wish my work was even remotley like Keith Thomsons...maybe one day with a 1000 more DSG's and COWs under my belt..lol.
As for the crescents, I know you don't know me all that well, BUT...to my knowledge I hadn't `spotted` (no pun intended) the crescents on your wonderful sleek Feline machine. It may be subliminal and I may have seen your design then inadvertantly ripped you off. As you have rights (first come first served etc.) I'm happy to go back and do a re-spray on mine. Although, a better solution would be if you let me rent the Crescents for the duration of this DSG a nominal fee...lol

You are `spot` on about the back/distance legs. I need to go back and re-define both of them. It stands out like a sore thumb now I look at it.

BTW.. I love the simplicity in your drivers. They look very realistic with very few brush strokes.

Wooot! this is my first DSG!!!
I didn't really know what I wanted the feet to look like, and I'm still getting used to my tablet so I don't really know how to color, but here was my go at it. Crits are always welcome.
