Work traditional before going digital. Then when feeling confident enough, do the switch back and forth. It's a real helper in both techniques!

my flying cephalopod lives above the black sea and inhales methane gas that rises from the water and turns it into hydrogen for floating and locomotion (much like a fighter jet, using a stream of "fart" and 2 specialized rocky bones to produce a spark)

Mmmm, this stuff is deliciously beautiful. Your shading really gives them a powerful emotional impact, and it's so interesting to look at. I can't wait to see more!
