'Lo again, mate. some real nice stuff since I last visited. Particularly like that painting on post 137? Really like how you've handled the paint on the face, has a really good sense of volume, if you get me.
Infact, your paintings in general are looking nice.
And, some of your pencils are getting there too. The lines on the lad who's sat painting are real nice. No crits this time, just keep up the good work.

Hey Mane,
These studies are really nice. I particularly like the ones where the lines cut around the subject. They make for really strong, solid drawings, and the cast shadows cutting across the forms are really effective as well. It looks like you spend a lot of time at the V&A! I love London, there are so many great museums, but the V&A is my favorite. Great stuff once again, happy drawing.
Kindly,
Cedric
Wow! You've improved so much since you started this sketchbook thread! It's really inspiring. Keep it up! By the way, what kind of sketchbooks do you use? They look very home made.

Hey
I love your pictures!
Its interesting to see the first pictures and now. There is a great difference!
Lg Sal.
very nice progression of your hard work, you have very delicate and fine art shadows and tone, theres still alot of progress to be made but mad kudos for bearing with it and i would love to see more creative stuff from you where you use your skills and make something fun out of it!
btw if i can ask what are your long term goals with this? do you want to do paintings? is it for fun? i would love to know![]()
my sketchbook! Drawing like a maniac!!

Destroy your weaknesses! theres nothing more to it! stop bitching grab that pencil and sketch Away!
Your anatomy has really improved a ton since the first page. Theres a great structure to your shadows as well. As much as the structure of your drawings has grown, I wouldn't mind seeing some looser gestures, so that you get some energy in those poses in addition to accuracy.
Lionheart- honestly man not really sure, i never really enjoyed imaginative drawing as much as observing what I see, it fascinates me. i dont really paint i prefer charcoal and pastel. just found a make of soft pastel by unison colour which feels like painting be fun to play with that.
ghast- cheers man, i should probably starting going to sketch club again havent been for a while laziness gets in the way.
first is a self, willow charcoal compressed and white chalk on the reverse side of the paper.
sketch of jon using rudstone, looks like a smooth red stone but you can draw with it like conte and sand it down to powder and use it to mass in. plus abit of conte pencil
jon- willow charcoal.
Amazing progress, Mane, these portraits are mighty fine indeed!

Woah! wonderful studies and insane progress! I must say I love the texture of the paper you're using. May I ask what kind of paper it is? I've only used cheap copy paper up till now and it has no real texture to it. I'd love to invest in some propper paper.

Awesome stuff! I really love your studies! Keep up the hard work!

Doing studies of those looks like so much fun!
