    The Wire
    Thick as Theives

Also one of my recent favourites is The Fall, great imagery in it, such a visually stunning film.

I recommend it to all you fellow artists, being very visual people and all

From what I've heard, that's the plan. I'm not sure if it would work in movie form because the sudden cuts to Freighter would be very jarring.

Hellboy 2- A lot better than most summer movies.

Pineapple Express-Just got around to watching it. Good stuff.

Into the Wild- This is a hell of a movie.

I was in a Korean film binge lately (I saw like twenty just this last week) but the best and one I highly recommend is Antique Bakery--not a big fan of yaoi but for a Korean movie based on a yaoi manga I'm staking my manhood here and say that I found it really funny and also the film contains one of the most original editing I've seen in any movie in a while, foreign or whatnot... I really liked it story-wise and structure-wise...

I saw Waking Life and it was pretty astounding. It was one of the most thought provoking films I have ever seen. I don't know if any of you would know this unless you're watching my Facebook but I've been practically obsessed with Lucid Dreaming for the last month or so and that is one of the topics of this film. It went far beyond that though... Really intriguing stuff!

Just watched this on google, it's a trip. I think the coolest quote from it was:

"i had a friend once who said the worst mistake that you can make is to think that you are alive
when really you're asleep in lifes waiting room..

the trick is, to combine your waking rational abilities with the infinite possiblities of your dreams."

Fuckin love that line. Awsome film.

Just saw Watchmen. I liked it. The people I watched it with thought it was boring because it had too little action in it though...

Should probably read the comic so I know what it was supposed to be like

Going back about a month and a half (not listed in any particular order):

Gran Turino-Exellent film, couldn't have asked for anything more.

    Terminator Salvation-Good, but not great

    Transformers 2-Good...I guess

    The Hangover-Very, very funny

    Pineapple express-also very funny

Strangeland-Watched this on onDemand the other day. It was a pretty shitty movie, Dee Snyder looked like a clown, and not a very scary clown, more than anything else.

The Ruins-Not bad at all, kind of bummed me out though.

The Skeleton Key-Better than it got credit for. I think there should be more movies about Voodoo.

I just saw Hurt Locker. Best movie I've seen this summer. Probably the best war movie since saving private Ryan. Definitely the best Iraq war movie but that's not saying much.

Duplicity .. Clive Owen, Julia Roberts .... pretty good actually.

Also agree with everythin about Wakin Life ... was really into lucid dreaming techniques too myself ... even had a pretty amazin one.

Edit: I see ya waking life quote and raise ya ...

Funny People: Funny, but very disjointed. I can get the serious, almost-dramedy tone, but the end feels like an entirely different movie.

The Hurt Locker: Great movie. Like Raoul Duke said, it's the best Iraq war movie, but is there really any competition? Very well-paced.

    Hmmm....

District 9 - Amazing, I'd see it again

The Cove - There was a limited theatrical release in a town close to me, so I went and saw it, very powerful ending.

Just saw GI.JOE. This is probably the worst movie since transformers 2. Worst acting ever, Channing tatum is as good as a cow. Even the cgi were crappy.
The good point is that we can't stop laughing after the movie.

Inglourious Basterds - Fantastic film, absolutely loved it. And for godsakes, someone give Christoph Waltz an Oscar. That man owned the film, every scene with him was so goddamn perfect!

Zaknafain - Agreed, Waltz was beyond fantastic! I highly doubt the film would've been as enjoyable without him. Tarantino even said so himself recently, that if he hadn't found the right actor for Landa, he wasn't sure if he would want to make the film at all! Glad that didn't happen

Renaissance, a french animation from....2006 I believe. It was all done with motion capture and then rendered in a stark black and white. Very cool look and an interesting story.

Pandorum – and I actually liked it. Except for the action scenes, which were handycam'd to death. But other than that, it was kinda thrilling.

Trick 'r Treat: So goddamned good. You keep expecting Halloween movies to capture the spirit of Halloween and it never happens. Trick 'r Treat is that film that actually manages to capture it.
