    Okay man.. where to begin!..

On the sketchpages.. first, thank you for putting them up!
I love to see how people study and how they study certain things.
    I find it very interesting!

And these sketchpages are great. though id love to see more volume on a page..
Try to fill it up.. like rly rly fill it up.. The one with the stick/loomis figures. just fill up the damn page, make them interect witch eachother take them from the top or undernearth.. just rly try to have fun with them

The pose of the jumping guy is rly cool too.. if its from mind i think its brilliant
I think the critique i would give on it is already written down beside it. so im gonna shut up on it

Also those heads with the 3 angles look rly great to
Its a little short head but those exist so i dont rly mind it, still think it looks good

And the illustration, damn man its turning out rly damn funny..
The guy rly looks like a loser and the big guy rly looks mean..
Im not sure what you want to do with the ligtning but if i see the hightligh on the neck of the big guy.. then id think you could make the shadows alot stronger.. especially on the pants of the 2..

Im looking forward how this illu will turn out.
Keep working hard my friend, and about those assignments between us.. that would be fudging great
    Good luck!

Nice update. I like the way you shade. It has a soft feeling to it. The boxer painting is starting to look really cool. Can't wait to see it finished.

Don't worry about going through a drawing slump. It happens to everyone.

I'm not slacking, promise! Been working pretty hard I think, just being particularly critical of my stuff atm so didn't want to post stuff I could already see so many problems with.
Here's a few initial sketches and wips that I don't hate as much as everything else! Most of them aren't anywhere near finished.

Oh, and the one with the blob like thing coming out of the ocean, that won't stay a blob, it's just like that until I can finalise the creature/thing design.

Tune in next update for the introduction of Dave!

    Thanks everyone, Peace
    Dan

    aaahhh fudge!! NAAAICE MAN!!

Finally is see some more paperworks!
Thank you for sharing this Now i can zerg in some knowledge!

Steve looks like a friend of mine in reallife man.. its so awsome!
I copied it to him, he got kinda mad.. and well u know steve.. steve is big so i apologized
I dont want a mad steve on me u know.. he's damn heavy!

Ur lines are so super ( in the tree aswell) and u shade so soft and stuff..
U mastered the medium so perfect.. makes me jeleous!

And that digital concept is pretty cool to!.. the paper work above shows me what u got in mind.
And i think u should work in something warmer.. U can keep the whole cold overal look.
But maybe warming up the jacket in front a little more would make a difference, it would definatly make ur cape/jacket come forward.
Ohwell im waiting to see how ur gonna turn this one into a masterpiece aye!
    Keep at it !
    And gimme sum stillife main!

great updates Dan, luv ur line work! You got some nice clean lines, on your way to becoming a greeeeat draughtsmen! I think the digital could use some more color variations or subtle shifts in them to give it a bit more vibrancy or life to em but other than that keep up the hard work mate!

    whoa! last one looks killer!
One thing that I did notice is your edge work can use some... work (haha). enlarge the canvas go over the edges with a hard brush - it makes a major difference.

The values on the tube thing he's holding can use work and the scene is too much monochromatic. And don't leave landscapes barren! ever! even the surface of the moon is littered with bumps and ditches.

    keep up and update more!

    Merry Christmas my friend!

These studies are really paying off, so continue going at them! I think the last painting could use a little bit more contrast so that you can not only bring more focus to ur character but also to give it more depth =)

Good stuff as usual! Keep it up!

    JailHouseRock2 - Thanks dude!
rogerb - You're too kind mon frere. I'm firing up the collab as soon as I've finished updating!
Art4All - Your wish is my command good sir!
    Spect - He's damn hot
snootchy - Thanks very much, I think you're right about the colours, I'll get on that!
Vatsel - I agree with all of that, but it's only a wip, I'll get there!
Ghostbrush - I say where do I sign up! haha
Alternative - Merry Christmas! Thanks man, I'll look into the contrast!

Some updates on some stuff and tings (gangster)

No pencils for a while, I'm back home for Christmas so no scanner access

The tree creature thingy is so shit, so if anyone wants to help me out with that I would be most greatful! The book describes it as a humanoid shape made up of twisted branches and stuff, its head area is the same width as its body and it doesn't really have a mouth but it does if that makes sense? I'm confused, it's confused, the whole fucking world is confused!

    Peace
    Dan

hahhaa that's soo awesome luv the pit hairs flowing, good to see some humor in sketches, seems to be a lot of tight sketches in the sketchbook section but good to see you and others like granny lighting it up on the fun side!!

i think the composition is a bit too centered, there's a symmetrical negative space on both sides, maybe tweak the composition a little bit where there are branches protruding from the sides to create some interesting negative space on both sides other than that i really dig the lighting!
