    Drawings

This first batch was already posted once in the FF but I wanted to start a SB and these are the only things I have scanned. I hope that I'm not perpetrating bad etiquette. I'll scan some new stuff within in the week. I hope these are worth a look and any comments or crits are welcome. Thanks, Bill.

This stuff really nice! Are these drawing for a story book?

At first the no neck on the cat people kind of tripped me out but I went back and looked at that sheet of action shots and the no-neck seems to work there.

Your use of color is great too. Every thing is nice and saturated without be ridiculously childish. Are these colored in PhotoShop?

    Keep up the good work!

Ex Nihilo : Thanks! This project was created as submission material to the animation studios. No job yet. There is a much bigger story in mind than what's illustrated here and the dream would be to continue on the project towards making a pitch as a film title if I can get work in a studio. Why not dream big?

Skoda : Thanks for stopping in. The colors were done in acrylics with oils, WC, pencil, and Prisma in different spots.

Lilnebo : Thank you! I'll keep drawing if you do

Since I don't have access right now to my sketchbook I'm posting some roughs of a few things I'm working towards for the next batch of submissions. MAN do I want a job!!!! Hope they're worth a look.

Lovely illustrations. I like your colors as well - very strong and "fearless". Especially the piece with the monsters walking through the woods. Would make for a very interesting children's book illustration.

And the last one is excellent in my opinion. Good composition and a nice sense of form on the forground character (Lantern?).

Nice updates Bill ! Love the monkeys!
Maybe on this one, the head of the girl is too big, or at least her neck is too long...
And I like the last bunch too!

    Hey Bill,
Nice toons, and a consistent style you've got.
Are you planning on making a comic story out of it,
or is the storyboard just for fun?
I like how you play around with different "camera" angles and such.

I feel your stuff would improve if you add stronger shadows to your drawings, to make them appear more 3 dimensional. I find that hard to do myself, so I can't really tell you where to start, but just scribble around with it.
See if you like the idea yourself.

    Have a good new years!

Earlier this year I applied to Blue Sky and the response was that I'd be kept on file. They are now my Dream Job and in researching their artists I discovered www.sketchtravel.com. This is a WIP based on that project. I know that It's rough but I'm liking where the composition is going and if I ever get her head right I may be able to use it as a portfolio piece. Happy New Years!!!... if anybody reads this...

CLOCHETTE: All I got at this house right now is quickies and roughs, but posting them gave me the excuse to tease you for that that crazy hood

MAOHEIHEI: I like where your head is at!! Thank You! What Year is it in China Today?

I did this "Masterpiece" tonight just to get a feel for working on the size my scanner will read. It actually took about 8 hours [Stop Laughing!!] For a subject I guess I fealt like drawing Fish and "Horny" Naked Ladies. Used Photo ref for the figures, first time doing that in years. If anybody wants it let me know and I'll mail it to ya. Maybe even a trade just for fun? No? hmmm.... Oh, OK...

Thanks for stopping by my SB.

Your drawings are really great in line, shading and even a color. What I'm worried about is just too much simplicity in your character design. It doesn't have to work all the time, like now with that U.F.O stuff and such:-).

Have a great New Year 2009 and I wish you a lot of inspiration and time to get it on canvas .

I dig your characters and I love the very simple and effective colors. My only crit is your women. The aliens, monsters, superheros all look very believeable in your style but the women just don't fit. They don't look like "you" drew them. The horny women and fish pic is better, but you mentioned that you used some refs for it. I think you've got some great stuff here. Keep it up!

really nice Sb... I like the composition in your pictures as well as the perspective... And the coloured piece with the blue monster beautiful...
I wonder how can you make such exact lines without any mistake... without PC..
