    Why the weekend downloads sale?

Simple as simple gets really. First because we want to show thanks to everyone for supporting the dowloads and want to offer a better opportunity to those who want to learn whenever we are able. Second because the cause is excellent.

CA is raising money to finalize ConceptArt.Org 4.0 which is fully designed and in progress. CA is giving the community a host of new, beautiful, FREE features and improving the educational programs for you, right here. Good stuff is coming. CA would not be what it is if it did not give all it can to the community. Get a video, get the info and art you wanted, invest in your skills and see a positive effect on CA because you chose to learn.

To also assist in the effort I am teaching an online streaming class next weekend on Color and the Theory of Light and a host of other classes. All CA proceeds are going directly to completing the tech for 4.0. If I want it done I will have to help too. I suppose some want details so here they are.

    Designed and Utilized Features::

    1. Look Awesome. Get the Exposure. CA has designed and is putting together the most comprehensive free personal gallery system on the internet. Every tool needed to promote deeply, showcase personal work, and look great doing it is in there. And unlike other gallery sites, this one comes with the high profile traffic of conceptart.org (currently in the range of a hundred million page views a month site wide and nearly every studio, and company in the entertainment and art fields).
    a. Members Mainline into the deepest pool of entertainment art directors, creative directors, book publishers, comic book companies, toy companies, animation studios, film companies, special fx houses, and other potential clients directly on ConceptArt.Org 4.0. All the majors players are watching us on CA. Might as well show them your best right? Don't care about work? Everything is designed for easy personal use too.
    2. Professional features, including a much improved jobs and resume/portfolio gallery link posting service to allow the much needed clients an easier way to participate here.
    3. Learn it now. Live streaming professional interactive lectures and lesson technology. Affordable, smart, and a smack to the private art schools charging two thousand dollars for twelve weeks of art school.
    4. Tell the world as you wish: Site wide tech which allows ca artists to showcase, personally and professionally, to promote their work in ways no other art community in the world does right now.
    5. Collaboration and Learning Tools - We have designed an awesome web 2.0 multi-painter app which also needs completion as well as other goodies this community needs to be successful.

All this takes time to build, but we know what needs to be done and are doing it. We have a great tech firm doing the work at cost and are going to go as fast as the community will support the growth. Much much to do!! It is of note that all the design work was also done volunteer styles.

All in all there are about a half dozen other major features and applications ongoing and the money raised through conceptart education is going to go a long way to getting all this completed quickly.

    Hope you enjoy!!!

    Thanks!

Is it $9.99 each or is the entire pack for $9.99? And I can't seem to find the Buy Now! button for that deal.

edit: Thanks, yeah each . And the price automatically gets applied when you click on the buy button.

I'm almost positive it's $9.99 each, $10 for that many dvds would be insane. Sadly the ones I want aren't on sale (Coro's painting and Jason Chan's character design, I'll pick those up soon anyway) But I think I'm going to get that Peter Konig Creature Sculpting. Cool deals, thanks.

Is this going to be somewhere along the lines of dA's galleries? Because a good alternate to dA as far as hosting my gallery would be awesome.

Thanks for all the work Jason and everyone else at CA! I'm about to do my part and get some more downloads...

Thank you for giving us such a big opportunity. Not only for the current and great educational material you´ve published, but for the constant growth you´re pushing CA, and with it, pushing the growth of every individual who really wishes to become an "artist". During the last few years I made several attempts to acquire real artistic knowledge, since going to some school, and then to another one, wasn´t giving me a serious and deep formation in art. CA has made me feel that I´m at the right place to keep growing. I don´t see that you´re trying to fulfill any kind of syllabus with senseless matters(which is what I´ve seen in some places I´ve been), or just sticking to a single and categorical approach of doing things; I see real knowledge and true efforts in giving us the best. For all of this, thanks a million

Thanks for all the work Jason and everyone else at CA! I'm about to do my part and get some more downloads...

deviant art is very old tech. it is clumsy, even if they are huge traffic makers. I am on eighteen months of research into all the latest social trends online as well as laid out the plans for our promotional tools, gallery tools, educational tools, demo tools, and way more. I looked at all the competition deeply. All good features out there are gathered and new ones planned too. None of the other art communities will have it all. It is going to take at least a year to get it all done but we will be set for the coming five years once it is. Every key feature needed is in the new designs. This time, rather than build it with a friend, I am hiring a professional tech firm to handle it all. I have finished the back end CA database and server structures, which is honestly the hardest part. That took me almost two years to get right. We are now set to add on and grow very easily. Best part is, there are a variety of tools that can hopefully help artists make a better living too.

To those getting the downloads...thank you!!!! Really. We are now about ten percent of the way to reaching our goals needed to get the tech built. Got a long way to go but we have made a dent this past month!!!!

I only spotted this a couple of hours ago and have subsequently invested in five of these titles. Awesome stuff guys, and sincere thanks for the bargainous price too (especially since many of us are on a pretty tight budget these days).

I just recently found ConceptArt.org and I wanted to thank you for the opportunity to pick up several titles for an insanely low price. As a beginner artist, I've learned TONS and I haven't even finished downloading my purchases yet. The hardest part is waiting for the downloads to finish!

Now if I can just save enough money to pick up the Composition tutorial and take the Color Theory class once they become available...

Thank you all for taking the time to help those of us who want to learn.

Thanks dude. I've tried to purchase every download whether it's something I'm directly interested in or not, and this gives me a chance to purchase some that came out before I got turned on to CA. Wish I could afford more right now. Whatever helps get CA further away from vBulletin I'm happy to help with! :-D

Christ, talk about impulse buying! I've used these forums for years, but never utilised the downloads as I couldnt afford them (I'm not digging at you for that, you've gotta earn), so I was gutted when the Gregory Manchess tutorial came and went a while back. So this sale comes through on an email and I buy both parts within five minutes, and as the cash comes out of my paypal account I can pretend I havent spent anything at all I hope my meagre spendings help the cause

I know this is a seperate issue, but I would recommend a policy of dropping the prices every now and then to encourage people with less funds to buy from you, as I have done - say six months/a year after release, or whenever you see sales dropping. Or sale offers similar to this, you'll know by sales whether it's worked or not. Keep it up, much thanks (and really enjoying the tutorial so far).

Just when I think you guys can't get much more awesome. I own a fair few of these anyhow, but there are a couple I've been meaning to buy for a while, and this is the perfect opportunity to grab them! And knowing the money will be eventually coming back around only makes the deal sweeter.

Seriously, you guys constantly astound me with the love you have for art and this community. Can't wait to see where you set the bar for art sites with version 4.0.

I've just bought Greg Manchess "Above The Timberline" part 1 and 2, currently downloading them. They are my first ever purchases from CA, and I'm glad I know that the money is going towards a great cause! I'm happy I've finally given something back to help the community which has helped me and my education a lot. I just wish I could buy more, but I'm strapped for cash at the moment. I'm so excited, I can't wait to start watching them and learning from them! Thank you so much

EDIT: I'm 30 minutes into the first part, and it is amazing! I have learnt so much already, and many things which I struggled with are just clicking! Also learning some great painting tips. Thank you Greg and everyone involved in making these amazing downloads!

I'm pretty sure they're different. I think I've seen the model in the clothed video (judging by the thumbnail) in other MB artists' paintings and it's not the same model as the regular figure painting video.

Well, now they fixed it I think... It was being weird before. o_o'

I swear, just to make sure after I accidentally downloaded it, I clicked "Buy This" before, added both to the cart, and they were the same thing in the cart. ._.

I'll let it go though. I'll buy the clothed one later. It's still a great video.

You're definitely not the first person to report this.

Every time I check, or the web designer checks, the links work fine. It's truly baffling!!
