Hello everyone!!! Skip over the the last page , cuz this is just old pewp!


I started drawing october 2008 after i got a sketchbook from my girlfriend!
And i've been drawing and studying for over 2 years now.
I documented about everything i did in this sketchbook so you can clearly see from where i came and where i am now.. skillwise
Althought since a couple of weeks i realised that there are some mix ups with the photobucket thingie, and it shows different scans of drawings in posts that are older. ( this prolly isnt making sense )
But in some older posts it shows newer drawings, that dont rly fit in there ohwell! still lots of drawings :/

Finished my WIP from yesterday:

I also did a self portrait, but thats on A3 .. doesnt fit my scanner XD

While i was at work i found sum spare time to get my wacom out.. This happens like once a month Ill try it more often, since i rly got to practice drawing with this thing..

Anyway here is the result for like 30mins wacomming in photoshop

Nice stuff you got going here! Try doing a lot of drawings from life. Use your anatomy studies to enforce your figure drawing and this will make your drawings from imagination even stronger. Keep'em coming!

Some digi stuff i did this morning,, all les than 15mins..
Wich is hardly noticeable *sarcasm*... I know it kinda sucks but please dont burn me completely off, im still very much a beginner crits and comments are ofc more than welcome Thanks !

Because you came to my sketchbook, and wrote there, I will return the favour.
There's definitely something going on here, what I like the most is the contours, the hands and eyes! They show that you have a good eye for forms.
Some character studies has a big problem (which you also found), the proportions. But somehow on the contours you find the good proportions, so what I think you should do is if you feel that the contours of a figure is not right, start over, and detail the stuff only when you think you've found the correct proportions.
The wacom/colour stuff: try to copy pictures you find interesting taken from the internet first, you have to practice colours the same way as the forms to get them right. Those digi pictures seem rushed and empty, so try to relax, try to find some kind of inspiration first, and then draw (you don't have to draw what you see, but inspiration is important).

Thank you for your comment. The problems you see in drawing with the pencil is the same i see to. The proportions are rly off from time to time

Your technique is pretty good man, just be more careful about your proportions!
Try & measure everything properly before you start shading.
I know it's tempting to finish things quickly, but you need to measure some stuff first or else you won't be able to make proper portraits or whatever.

Try drawing a bit more from life, your own hands can quite challenging

And the digital ones can only get better, the more you practice. Try watching some tutorials too.

Nice work you have running here!
My comments...your line isn't bad, I suggest you to continue with blind contours and such, it's helping you a lot.
And keep on with Bridgman, it's helpful.
About your faces, I think you should exercise more on them, have you tried Loomis book?
Bodies seems to work better IMO, the only problem somethimes are the proportions.
By the way, an improvement is noticeable following your sb, so don't give up!

Id love to see you work with softer pencils (6B or something). Might give your drawings more expression and learn you to have confidence in the lines you put on paper.
