That creature is sick. Post some more!
Welcome to CA. Like the little bits of textures on the head, also the design. The lighting looks accurate too... have to agreed with FourTonMantis, it's simply sick!.
good luck.
So far, I don't see any flaws. In other words, great job; and I would like to see much more from you.

That creature looks fierce, I'm looking forward to seeing more!![]()
Some zombie goodness! Yum! Technically they are diseased, not undead, but can't say much more than that. About 3 hours each in PS2.

Very cool stuff mate.
Loving the dark feel to it all.
Perhaps you should try and vary the hardness of your edges as everything seems a little too uniform in sharpness.
Not that I am necessarily one to be giving critiques but...the lighting on the Cthulhu creature seems a little off. It reads to me that he is lit from the front right and back left. Nonetheless, it looks great.
I second muzzoid's suggestion.
I'll keep an eye out for your posts. Good luck.
The first step - especially for young people with energy and drive and talent, but not money - the first step to controlling your world is to control your culture. To model and demonstrate the kind of world you demand to live in. To write the books. Make the music. Shoot the films. Paint the art.

FourTonMantis, heavyflash, FightingSeraph, Iddi - Thank you kind gentlemen!!!
Muzziod - Thanks! I'll give it a shot, read the tutorial on edge sharpness here, very helpful. I am almost ready to give up on Photoshop, I feel like it's painting me into a corner artisticly. Haha... LameSeriously, I'm hating how my pieces always come out looking so stiff. Like those zombies, they look like they could be real... real shitty rubber Halloween masks. I'm hoping painter and a shit ton of practice helps.
IMBass - Thanks! Art is for everyone, so anyone can give a critique. I agree that the lighting isn't accurate. I was imagining a 3 light setup that's often used in photography and cinematography; a fill, rim and main light. But I was in a hurry and probably didn't do it accurately. I intend to finish that one at some point and I will fix it.
This was intended for the Bettie Page CHOW but I had to leave for the holidays before I could finish. Rather than let it sit on my hard drive forever, I thought I'd share what I'd finished. It's my first real attempt at Painter. I was shooting for an Elvgren style, and so in his honor I will give not one, but two cheesy titles - Artist's Anatomy (Bedtime Story)

Good stuff, your understanding of colour and texture is really top notch!

PeNcIl ReBeLlIoN - Thanks for saying so! I don't know if I agree, I feel like I need to improve a lot. It's a curse and a blessing to never be content.
Here's some B&W work. One piece each (roughly) from the last 6 years, newest to oldest. Off to paint 'Bridgeman'.

Some anatomy studies from Bridgeman and Delavier. The last one's are some studies for a work project.

great studies and the beast riders are so cool
Gerre - Thanks!
I haven't updated my sketchbook in a while, so here's a fairly large image dump.

The Final Doctor
Female Sith Lord (didn't finish this one)

Baba Yaga

Hey, Ian! Wow, the skin texture on that first zombie is great!
This BabaYaga thing is crazy! Really like how it turned out, man. Your rendering is improving as well. Keep working on it! Smooth it out!
Awesome start to a sketchbook. Fill it up!

The following are for a pen and paper RPG. Copyright Tumutn games.
These are copyright Mary Fakhoury. Not my usual cup of tea, but fun never-the-less.

IanE - Thanks for the encouragement! I kinda feel like my renderings are too smooth, ya know not painterly like a lot of the greats around here. I'll try to keep stuff coming on a regular basis.
In other news, I'm going to be featured in FXpose in next months ImagineFX!!! When I got the email I thought it was a joke at first, I guess I really won't believe it till I have an issue in my hands. Only a few more days!
And since I hate to post w/out an image, here's a few gun studies. I finally found a use for the "dissolve" layer blending mode

Environmental Suit Concepts

You progressed a lot in a few months!!That´s incredible!!Cool lighting in some of your pics! The baba Yaga chow is so dramatic!!!
Great work! (I like the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th environmental suits the best, out of the rest of the env. suits that is XP) seriously though, your stuff is TOP NOTCH!
Camara & Sael - Thanks! I'll keep working hard to improve!
The final image for "The Final Doctor" Chow and some faces. Trying to improve on my rendering of skin, still a ways to go.

Jesus Christ a lot of this stuff is freaking bad ass dude! I'm digging your style.
Is that house walking in that image with the witch woman? That's bad ass haha!

Wow, I haven't posted anything here in over a year. It's been a busy one, moved (states) twice, and I'm now settled into my new home, a cabin in the middle of nowhere as the administrator/caretaker of a Buddhist retreat center. As a poor artist, this is a pretty good gig, no pay, but rent and bills are nearly non-existent, and I can purchase a dozen eggs from my Amish neighbors for a dollar. The last four months has been spent in near solitude, in fact I once went 5 days without saying a single word.
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. All work and no play...
So, here's some play (and some work). Some is old and some new, I decided to dump everything into one thread, so sorry if you've seen some of it before.
I wish to have some more time to put into art now that life is starting to get settled again.

Man, I don't even remember how to attach an image :/
Here's a few character concepts I did for a comic book. There are around 30-40 characters so far. I don't have much creative control with this, but a fun project none-the-less.
***Had to remove a bunch of images because of change over of copyright.***

Some speed paints. The last one's from a ref pic of Ashwaria Rai (sp?), she's very beautiful, the rendition, not so much.

you have some good work here. I'd say keep working on your anatomy and I sometimes notice you use white to shade your work to show light. I wouldn't use white so much to bring out the highlights. It dulls out the color. Just a thought.
Istmin52 - Thanks for the comments! Yeah, I do use white (and gray and black), I really need to break myself of that habit :/
More speed paints
