DSG 1432: Sci-Fi • ODD HOVER-BOT HAS A SOFT, ROUNDED BODY SHAPE, W/ MANY DANGLY LEGS

[ I guess it comes to rest on them occasionally... ]

[ Or maybe it uses them to help navigate in zero-g environments... ]

    [ But, right now, they're dangling. ]

[ Hope everyone had good eats. ]

Let me begin. I'm still new to the digital painting game. This is my third DSG post.

Il Capo - Those to me look like supersonic waterpowered self propelled flying canyon mushrooms. The white blotches on the top of them were good additions too, they give them a trademark of fresh picnic foods, only now in a space materialistic way.

Here is my 1st CA posting and my first DSG. Looking forward to trying to draw regularly. Feedback appreciated.

EDIT: DESCRIPTION: This bot uses organic "root" tentacles to absorb moisture in heavy cloud systems. It uses the water in its hydrogen-based fuel system.

I like it 'cos it looks squishy Oh! The chainy things are legs, you see, and it uses them to steer! It just flails 'em around to get a push in the direction it wants to go.

Kept the shape simple and tried to work on some volume/lighting.

Up to now i like cw's and bombchu's especially for the sweet shapes.
Il Capo: I like the colors and the flow, but I think you be more precise in Shape. Not much to recognize ...
crossbowgurl: nice design and nice sketch, I can really see this thing hovering around
    Ishren: Earthworm Bomberman
MoHog: Maybe try to start on another color than white and see where you can go from there. White can be glaring and keeps you from choosing stronger colors.
brewin: Nice twist making it a ride
Jonish: you could give some more love to the legs, but nice spider bot
laxon: very creepy thing. nice. It looks a bit flat though. I think you should practice some lighting and try to keep away from overusing textures as they are
Sudsy: nice first try, maybe spend a few more minutes in cleaning up the shapes next time

Il Capo:I really like the movement in yours
ste and bombchu:the stylization in these in very strong, and very contemporary with the generous use of plastic-like material
cw:I like the texture that is applied to the legs in this piece, as well as the overall color usage.

Shoddy design... I stuck too closely to my original marks instead of tweaking the shapes. Had fun though.

First time submitting here too. Wanted to go with something a little bit less jellyfish-like, and apparently my idea of "many" is only 8. Trying to figure out painting in photoshop, but I think I was getting the hang of it by the time I got to the legs.

Loves your pics Anthis, Herrmann and Ruined.

I did this yesterday and deleted it. But changed my mind today and took it out of the recycle bin and finished it up.
