Thanks a lot, man! About half of the faces are from ref, and the other half is from life, at cafés and buses and boats and whatnot. They're the ones that usually aren't finished :p
The nudes are all from pictures, and I try weighing the lines where the weight of what I'm drawing is, and where two shapes meet, kind of. Also where there's shadows. I dunno, really :p

No big update today, just a little reminder for myself to remember to keep going, and to show you guys how bad I was at these things:
Here's an image I tried making of a friend of mine in Photoshop in June last year (less than one year ago, then), using loads of fancy brushes I'd found and all. My dad always told me to keep my old drawings even though they were shit, and I see why now, because without them I wouldn't know I'd improved

And a single sketchbook page I did while watching Snatch today. Gotta learn that human anatomy!

    IanE: Thank you so much!

Here are some sketchbook scans, I'm quite happy with most of them, but the upper arm on the last one looks too flat me thinks (Oh well, you learn as long as you live, I guess). I love seeing that I've improved at everything since just a page back, though

Also, here's a pic I'm making, been working on it for half an hour, not counting the initial drawing. I'm gonna fix up the lips, make them a bit darker and try making that eyebrow there look better. C&C please!

Ser bra ut det her soppe

    MEN MEEEEEEEEEEER!

wookiedabo: You think? Thanks! I hate how I'm always almost completely unable to teach people stuff though, or tell them what I do. I never seem to get it right when trying to describe what I'm thinking when I draw

Mischeviouslittleelf: Tine! Because I am who I am, I never was able to make FIFTY hand studies, but here are some (close enough: 17) anyway. What's funny is I like the one I used the least time on the best. That's the small one down to the left which isn't the fist.

hehe, no worries man, I'll learn by watching. really nice hand studies, I can't find fault in any of them. In fact, I might just make studies of your studies...

Nice start, though you are a mere 33 hands short of your homework, so do better tomorrow^^ These are very nice though, so good job. I will keep kicking your ass on this until I leave for Falmouth, and even then, if I am able

You have a beautiful style, and those foreshortening drawings are fantastic! I think your hands need a little work, but the rest of your anatomy drawings look great

your form is spot on, your studies are great, your painting is lovely and so are your sketches...

gah too many compliments! no real crits unfortunately but maybe it might be worth considering doing some really loose gestural studies - everything feels really tight (in a good way!) but doing some looser stuff might open up some interesting stuff maybe

    sweet stuff tho

wookiedabo: I'm really glad you like my stuff man! Sometimes I find it useful to look at other people's drawings to see how they describe form and try to adapt that into my own thing

Mischeviouslittleelf: I did those hands today, or at least close to it. Will post tomorrow sometime, along with the rest of them, completing all 50 hands

Finn Diesel: Thank you! I can always get better, and the Mischeviouslittleelf is pushing me to draw more hands so I'll get better in time

strybjorn: Thank you! You're right, of course, I should try working faster and probably rougher, to expant my horizon

    IanE: Time for an update!

Here are three cast studies I did almost a week ago. I should draw more from life and less from pictures, I know, but unfortunately the most interesting subjects are too often not available IRL

Nice cast studies mate, Good to see you use them directional lines, and the clear outlines is very crisp. Think you should do your homework, if you want some more that is^^

Mischeviouslittleelf: Thank yee! I'm trying to use directional hatching to describe form more. If that's the right way to say that in English :p

Here are a lot of sketches I've done the past days. The hands are a homework assignment Mischeviouslittleelf gave me, and this next week we're both drawing necks. You can see I've started in the last scan here

Just a small update tonight, here's a portrait thing I'm working on. It's supposed to be Jofx (I'm working from four different ref photos, so I'm not just painting after one pic), but currently it only half-looks like him. Will have to tighten that up tomorrow, and finish it
    Critique would be greatly appreciated!

Ja I know, skal seff fikse det. Tenker kanskje å ikke bruke mer reff da, bare bruke jostein som base, og så ende opp med noe som ikke egentlig likner på ham.

    Om det var logisk :p
