    Craig Mullins brush effect, anyone?

    Hi there!

Guys from goodbrush.com and paperblue.net are using amazing custom brushes.. mostly in their ultraamazing fast skatches. My guess it's some settings of DUALBRUSH... or maybe it's something completly different?

Anyone could share this PROtechnic ???

    thanks in advance...

They use custom brushes, yes, but it's also something entirely different. The usage of brushes is a very small part of what makes their art great.

lots of texture brushes and a good handling of color and lighting.

    Get Mathias' brushes here
http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=73169, I think they'll give you the effect your looking for, and I know they have helped me tons.

From what I can gather it seems that you need to splatter the underpainting with heavy texture and color and build ontop of it with basic circle brushes and circled-textured brushes. Your best bet is get a handle on lighting and color in addition to the other fundementals, that way youll be able to turn out stuff like this within minutes...literally

Also you should get the hang of using quick mask (Q). Mask some areas then hide selection and use the gradient tool to drop some color over the area. Just by looking at some of those pieces on the websites you've shown me, I can see that the technique is being used, especially here http://paperblue.net/?mid=Gallery_00...cument_srl=686
