Mydrako - It used to be red but it faded off. Kinda miss it. Thanks for the comment. zalxemptyx told me that my drawings are going though a resession (like singapore) and my digis are just so much better than my pencils. @_@ So this id going to be my last digi in a while. I'm gonna go back to my trads now.

but its get a little soft one the chin there dear

remember Hard bone area, whack with a hard edge brush, elbow, skulls knuckles all that areas where the bones and the skin is pretty near to each other

Yeah update !! I still like the previous b/w one. That one is a more successful piece basically because the features are placed more accurately. Watch the horizontal lines that should run parallel from eye to eye, nostril to nostil and lip corner to lip corner. That is super important!!.. Do that right, u are half way there..

1st test on Sai. OMG ITS AWESOME. It doesnt lag on my slow com like how painter and ps does. I love the watercolor brush, it blends really well. Not much of an image program but it's great for painting. Will try other stuff using this.

Not too bad for an hour's paint. I got the likeness. I still have problems with noses. Oh and i must learn how to blend faster, or cleverly.

Don't worry so much about blending fast yet, blend slow to start, there is never a rush
And focus more on your features first before you worry about the blending, if the features aren't right, the blending won't look any good over the features. If it helps, I have trouble with noses too, do a couple quick, small sketches of your nose before drawing the full portrait

Hala - Hey there, thanks for the tip. I really think that drawing noses would help, cause this one didn't turn out too good either.

But hmm, i think i am improving a little. I seem to be able to capture my likeness after my 5th try. (didnt save the previous horrible ones. @_@)

It seems like the light source might be kind of diffuse or something... maybe try changing it around a little bit and watch the shadows go all over yr face. that can produce some really interesting results, although in order to both work on the monitor and not go blind from the lights you might have to toggle the light sources on and off and try to remember what you see.

GUGGEYYY!! Thanks for commenting! I understand what you mean. Right now the lights fixed and the lighting is kinda boring. But i will try to change them when i draw at other locations. Hope you are doing well em!

Okay, today's one is probably the hardest i did. I switched on the opacity jitter. Trying to to get used to the function, cause it's kinda a pain to keep changing the opacity over and over again. Might continue to paint this way for the next few days.

Oh and i cut my hair!

i see a stronger form progressively ,thats great dear, keep it up.
take your time in executing a piece rather then hit and run kinda thing.
once ya really get the hang of it , you start to realize that you go faster , it
comes naturally, dont worry too much of how long it will take you, just the final product.

remember whatever method it is done ,usually the final piece what matter the most cause one of reasons behind it is that, you need to give the viewer an impression that makes them come back for more.

Hey you're getting much better!
Try to think about the bone structure under your face--I think it will help cuz sometimes it feels like your pieces have no structure underneath, and that may be why you're having trouble with noses and likeness. If you can analyze the shape of the structure underneath, it you will be able to sketch out the planes of the face that make you recognizable
