    Poster for WWI Student Film

    Hello,

Here's a drawing i just finished, a poster for a Student Film about Armistice Day. It was a low budget project but i still tried to make it look pretty good.

This illustration depicts a scene in the film where two enemies meet in a shell-hole and take a moment to smoke a cigarette together, instead of shooting each other.

Its kind of stylized- realism is not the goal here. I'm a big fan of Art Spiegelman's "Maus."

Its all finished and client approved, so i'd like to get some critiques.

    Thanks!

Lot of good qualities in the piece, but I admit I didn't read that they were enemies. You probably should've tried to accentuate that fact somehow.

Its tricky because they aren't really enemies, they are really the same kind of person on opposite sides of the war, so beyond their uniforms and the war going on in the background, it was difficult to find ways to show they are "enemies". I tried to show they are wary of each other, with all the space in between the two characters... they obviously aren't friends. But it was tough due to the context of the scene.

One thing I missed before you explained it was the point on the German's helmet, so the concept would be easier to read if that didn't blend into the terrain behind him.
