You're only 15!?! Wow. I wish I had your attitude at my age..I mean I'm only 2 years older than you but still. Awesome work.
Anyway, welcome to Conceptart.org! I don't think you should be worried about your manga influence, every artist draws inspiration from what they like. I say there's no problem as long as you're also studying life so that your work is grounded in reality. You're totally doing that, so draw what you like!
You need to study hands more. You've been focusing pretty heavily on faces and they look great, but you're either hiding your hands or you don't know how they work when you draw them.
Okay, good luck with your new SB, keep up the good work!

Vertical I totally agree. Hands have always been the bane of my existence when it comes to drawing. I tend not to focus on hands as much when it comes to doodles or sketches as compared to a finished picture, though I now think I should draw hands more often whether it be a finished picture or not.
Hand studies
60 second poses from posemaniacs.
Male anatomy study.

I said younger, meant older -_- did you take a look at the links in my signature? you might like them better than posemaniacs. The study looks really good, but his neck seems to have some issues, and I think you should try using larger brush sizes and fewer strokes, all those scratchy marks can be a little distracting.
Vertical Thanks for the advice. I just checked out the links right now; they'll be much more helpful to me with gestures. thanks!
more 60 sec posemaniacs gestures
some really quick environment studies
some doodles of a character im working on. first one is just a colour of an old doodle though. :Y

You have a very lively style, I love your color choices, and the way you draw faces. Keep it up.
Beautiful faces and eyes, and I also lked the posemaniacs figures. Waiting for more!
JohannesLight Thank you!
Henrique Ventura Thank you! >u<
I guessing that faces are my strong point..
more 60 sec gestures
some character doodles.

Not very much on this update. Just some arm studies from Loomis.

I like this one alot! The expression just makes everything awesomeKeep it up!
Cool Sketchbook ! i like the digital paintings and Gestures
anyway , i suggest to do more and more of gestures from life ( as glen vilppu sayin : -Gesture is the most improtant element in the drawing ) , and make some Bridgman's studies
keep it up man![]()
Hey Arestinnia thanks for stop by my book. Nice works, and love the way you draw that faces expressions. I would love to see a fully finished view of that 3 eyed character, looks good.
Hey welcome to ca! Nothing wrong with a manga influence, draw what you like to draw. I love wel done manga, hah I can't get enough of this guys stuff http://www3.ocn.ne.jp/~gallo44/ he did the character designs for Eureka 7 if you ever heard of it.
Keep it up!
I agree with above. Draw what you like, and don't worry about what others think, as long as what you draw shows effort and quality. Style is totaly up to you. I like both anime/manga and realistic stuff personally, and often go back and forth in between. Besides, if you're 15 and can draw that well, I wouldn't worry too much. Your doing great. Just work on the anatomy and keep doing the studies. Nice job.

Ah I really like your first 2 portraits! Simply great !^^
great great great! Need to put more details a bit) And need to avoid opacity surfaces when u paint landscape. Opacity mode its an implement not the end result in ur pict. Just thoughts Keep pushing up!
WOW! 15!?!? I wish I was as good as you at fifteen, man I feel inferior now. Haha, love your stuff!

Great work! Color choice in your finals is really great and having a stylized look to your work isn't hurting you at all. Keep it up. Do you have more action pose studies?
Ven S Thanks!
WaSsiM Thanks for the advice. I'll be sure to look into that.
Ricardo Robles Haha no problem, your work is awesome! Also thanks, I plan to do a more full concept of him later.
NiaLain Thanks!
Masayasu Thank you! People keep telling this, it's just that I've heard countless times that the manga style is kinda shunned in art school and stuff, but at the same time I don't really wanna let go of it.
TomDeVis Thanks!
n1frit Thank you and thanks for the advice.
Psychobuddy haha thank you!
BogGnarr Thank you! Well I've been doing a lot of gestures, but maybe now I think I need to look into more detailed action poses.

some 30 second gestures this time.

Your drawings are amazing, please keep posting. I would like to see your progress!
First of I want to say that you are extremely good for your age!
I mean, I'm only 3 years older than you, but you're definitely on the right track.
One thing that would really help make your paintings less "dirty" is not using the same brush size all over. Try to use big brushes for big shapes and small brushes for small ones.
Your studies are great, but the poses you do from imagination are pretty stiff.
Try to feel the movement and twists of the body rather than making small adjustments to a generic front view. I hope you understand what I mean^^
Keep up the good work!
wow i haven't been on this site in like almost a year. i've spent all this time literally wallowing in shit and i haven't drawn as much lately. i draw too much people and i really hate that it makes me a little sad because when i try to do environments, i just get really scared and give up. hopefully posting on here can motivate me to improve and try to get out of my comfort zone.
here is some stuff from march>september 2012 from old>new.

Great job with your studies. I need to get into the habit of doing landscape studies, just like you are. I would love to see more of your 3-eyed Manga dude. I felt like those were some of your best drawings. I wouldn't worry about what art schools will think. Do some work for them and do some work for you. Don't ever stop doing what you love, just to fit someone else's expectations.
For Science- Sketchbook!
ive been wasting my life doing god knos what. yea i draw too many people (especially girls) and i really need to work on environments!!!!!!
