your stuff looks good i feel you have some cool ideas and good technical skill. I could be wrong but it looks like your using primarily a round brush. try using a couple of different brushes it may give you a more natural feel when you work

    quite an update ^^

Wow, it's actually something like 2 years ago that I posted my last painting in here so I guess its about time to present at least some of the stuff I did while I was working for Gangs of Dystopia.
Hope there is at least some skilldevelopement to be recognized; I have to admit that besides work I was a lazy bum not doing anything like private studies or doodleing ... Enjoy and thanks for stopping by

Really cool enviroments! Still I think the colouring and shading of the characters looks a bit off compared to the fully rendered rest.
But I'm totally in love with the colours you chose! =D

@ Jeff: Haha, yeah, maybe there will be a 3D painting-app for the new DS in the future Don't know if I pick this sketch up tho ... it so old already

@ Madam Mim: You're so mean the point is that I had to use phototextures for the enviros (my employer wanted me to ... :/) which obviously DOES make a difference ... but I think all in all it still blends in quite okay ... these character-heads are my first fully rendered btw (no-ref ofcourse). Like I said Im not doing any studies besides work so Im still a tiny little bit proud of the outcome ^^

I won't comment my ridiculously long absence and just post two unfinished pieces I did during our internal weekly challenge ... The first challenge was to invent a vehicle to mine "absurdium", the second to do a portrait of the austrian diplomat von Metternich (which I combined with the alternative topic "octophant") ... nuf said, let the canvas speak:

"rad lawnmower interceptor" this time the topic was so much fun that I was really eager to put in more effort into the finish. Unfortunately I couldn't upload it in a higher resolution ... hope you like it anyways

Take it easy. I recognize your skill development after you had vanished for about 2 years, which is your stuffs are more colorful... Certainly they are more precise and imaginative. Hey, mate, you got the talent and your progress is fruitful! ... So that I'm jealous of you honestly...

The nazi spaceship looks very natural, and the frog one is badass. Really astounding work. In this last one I think the building in the right looks off, the empty sky and scenario don't quite fit the piece, and the zombie getting its head exploded could be more central in the composition.

@ O ranger: Thanks a lot I will try to always upload the stuff that we do for our internal weekly challenge in the office (which is pretty much all that I do basically )

Sooo, this time one of the topics was "mortal fear" which I went for ... just startet with a sketch and I think this is definitely going into the right direction ... lets see if I can finish it in time ^^

Love the ship and the lawnmower girl too.

@ Velocity Kendall: Aww thanks man ... well "fast" is pretty relative if you consider the huge timelapses between my works on the other hand I actually don't do studies (probably am not passionate enough about painting ^^) which is nothing to be proud of (for lazyness never is) though I'm quite happy with how it still works out in a way

Forgot to upload these ... WIPs of challenges I didnt finish yet (and probably never will ) topics: "iceage" and "wonderous river underworld"

So, who'd have thought ... I didn't finish the banzai charge in time Maybe I will come back to this one later. Instead I'm working on our next topic "black metal" right now ... and I'm rendering this dude for hours already (really don't have a clue what exactly absorbs so much time ... could be the absence of a real technique ). Anyways, for I'm no fan of black metal I interpreted the topic a bit different ... hope you like it ^^

So, it's been a while again, had a couple of weekends without time to do anything for our challenges and thus didn't do anything at all ... also I lost about 7 hours of progress to a file corruption when working on my knight (see WIP posted above) which almost killed my last bit of sanity ... especially for it happened because of my clumsy old fingers pressing the restart button while laying down my wacom on top of my pc. The painting was completely done and I was just in the middle of saving it. These moments when you wanna chop off your hand ...
Anyways after a little break I tried to paint a whole piece without using any of the standard brushes and wasting too much time in polishing which is a rather new technique for me. I'm a huge fan of the Guild Wars Illustrations so I was curious if I could achieve a similar mood using the same rough style. It turned out to be quite fun to see the painting develop a lot faster than usual while looking a lot more interesting.

More than half a year has passed and I've done nothing but work ^^ Anyways I wanted to post this mech I did almost a year ago now but always forgot to upload. It should be considered a WIP (which will stay unfinished 'til the end of days though ... )
