Awesome, you guys are rocking it! I really wanted one of the Nathan Jurevisius MTV fauna toys you made but i couldn't get hold of them
I think Bertie is a keeper: easily one of the best toys i have seen anywhere!
I am very interested in getting some of my own designs made but production costs seems pretty prohibitive. I have been submitting designs to patch together and they have been received pretty well so far...

Anyways, keep up the great work, you guys seem to land very very exciting projects!

    hey jake

thanks!! you can get the fauna figures at super7 or magic pony in toronto

    or MTV.ca...
if that is not helpful drop me an email and i will see what i can do

your stuff is really fun and playful toy production is not that expensive but the initial investment is quite high for most artists starting out
although the ammount of interest and promotion a figure generates is hard to match any other way.

feel free to drop me a line if you have any questions.
Scott can also answer most #D-output questions if you have any

    thanks!

I was wondering what the ballpark initial investment is? I have a sort of merging audience with art buyers and toy collectors and always thought it would be so cool to have a toy. PM'd.

    Hi there TOYMINATORX
I'm curious, do you think 3d printing is going to replace traditional modelling?
My medium at the moment is polymere clays but I'm concerned it's not going to be appilcable for production use in future?
Your Bertie amazes me everytime I look upon it, great inspiration, I don't think Mr Wood could have asked for more, AWESOME!!

    Hi Tea,

When we look at a project and try to decide which tool is best suited to get it done, we measure size, organic detail, symmetry, and if the character is going to be used more than once. Hand sculpting is the way to go for huge, organic, asymmetrical models. Digital sculpting, for us, is used for smaller, clean, symmetrical characters that might be used for multiple purposes.

Bertie is basically industrial design, and needed to be very clean and symmetrical, and on top of that all his parts had to be carefully engineered to breakdown and reassemble, so digital was the way to go.

Ashley was very satisfied with the way Bertie turned out.
