    Arrow >upgrading to next level

    Hi,
I've been lurking here for few years and I thought it's about time to start a sketchbook here for critics & comments that I would appreciate.
So I will start with my old and some newly made stuff (it's only a small part of my works, but I think it's enough to see what I'm capabale for, and for what not)

Cool stuff, looks like you're off to a great start. I'm really enjoying your latest creatures (the second batch) the color looks much more confident than the previous post. And keep using ref., it will pay off Lets see some more!

I'm surprised there aren't more replies... Good SB so far, some of your creatures are really cool. I especially like the tadpole critter from your last post and that bowlegged thing in the first post. Something I think you should be weary of is that a lot of your creatures so far are really stocky with thick legs and rigid spine like a pachyderm. That's not necessarily a problem in moderation, but I think you could push their anatomy more and add a bit more variety. Remember to keep the silhouette in mind when designing, so they all have a distinct look. And don't forget about functionality; how carnivores tend to be built totally different from herbivores etc.

Hey there, pretty cool approaches here, really like the way you cought the hyaenas outlines they really bring it to the point ... Try to translate the dynamic you show in your doodles into your creature paintings; most of them look kinda static to me though well designed and colored. The deer-skull definitely kicks ass ...

lord_regenschirm > true about static creatures, it's way easier to build one and to control design. So there's my first attempt to paint a critter in motion.

mcpunky > one post and only in my SB? honored and yup there supposed to be Vidmantas

So here is a try to use some details from the studies of hyena, trying to control colors and lightning + one more wip started recently. Critics would be apreciated.

    Some more...
    Progress of my insecthumanlarva
And did some doodles to remind myself why i need so hard to study references (I know they totally suck, but it's good that they will be there and stare at me as one of my weakness points)

abiLity > thx, will be more
InFlame > I think it's very early for stars, but i will try to do my best to keep them reasonable.

So there is one more progress step of insecthumanlarva and the last (got some good critics and decided to drop it, cause of difficult fixes).
    And starting to study seriously.

Thanks for dropping by my sketchbook dude! You've got some cool stuff here. I am particularly fond of your creatures, very cool. I also dig the orc designs. You mentioned that you have more stuff. Would love to see some of your older stuff.

You mentioned that you weren't doing photo references; I would highly recommend that. You'd be amazed just how much you get out of that. You do life drawings I'm assuming? All I can say is that since going last night I totally realized what I was missing. My sketching IQ shot up big time.

Anyways, keep posting, keep pushing yourself, never stop!

Peetaer > u'r welcome Thanx for kind words and about doing some works from references - i know, that i must do them, but it's not so fun for me as to create something by my own. Will push to do them.
And as you wished, here is some of my old paintings/sketches/wips n stuff...
