thanks for stopping by my sketchbook! you've got nice stuff going on, lots of faces. i'd say you could benefit from concentrating on the planes and structure of the face even more. some of the noses seem symbolic while some others look pretty realistic - are those pics from the same time?
can't say much more constructive for now - show us more!

    Hey! Ok, so let's see...
thescala made a good remark already, you could try to improve your shading. But that is just one of many things you could practice. You're already doing great by working from reference - some sketches are looking pretty accurate also!
It's always a matter of practice, you need to hang in there and constantly draw. It simply needs time. Try loosening up some of your lines maybe, keep it sketchy in the beginning. But try to draw with confident lines rather than scribbly ones. Basic routines like drawing many parallel lines and circles are good practice as well and will make your strokes more fluid.

hey there, Hideyoshi basicly said it. It seems to me like you are going very dar very fast with some of your work, rather try to start off loose and then gradually work more contrast into your art, just a thought ^^

Keep up the work, you are doing good.

Thanks for visiting my sketchbook. For now only thing I can advise you is to draw draw draw ... and then draw some more. You'll see effects soon. And keep posting, this page will help you improve - without a doubt.

Hi Ben, nice sketching skills, I particularly like the portrait of Anna Paquin, she's so beautiful, I think you should draw just pictures of her, and nothing else Its Ben here by the way(other Ben, not you from the future!) if you hadn't worked that out yet, nice sketchbook, thanks for the pic of anna, your scan doesn't do it justice, I have it on my wall and its awesome ! and thanks for the inspiration to keep drawing despite my currently humble skills, will get better the more I practice, and then I'll start my own sketchbook ! keep posting MORE, I know you draw tons more than this I've seen your bulging sketchbooks !!!
    Cya soon mate !
    Ben.

Very cool stuff, you deff. have a handle on how to shade. What I would recommend is that you try and clean up your lines before you shade- make sure you have proportion and whatnot all set up. You seem to push eyes too close together, on occasion, for example. Another thing is that you seem to be using the smudging technique, unless I'm mistaken. This isn't a bad thing, but it really doesn't allow you to represent a true range of values. If you use a pencil light enough, you can shade and have it be just as smooth- or, if you want, you can hatch or otherwise, and leave it rough, like in your pen work.

Still, it's really good work. Keep it up!
