Hey angela! Thanks for asking how I am doing. I am fine, got busy with works and my brother's wedding, desperately looking for some time to do personal works, but in whole I am fine But enough bout me, How are you? I can see you still updating this thread. Caricature faces keep getting better and better. You certainly found something you enjoy to do. That's good, but don't let it stops you adding some more diversity in your works. Explore new areas like you occasionally did in your studies. From what I see here, you are doing good, hope your life is as good (or better).

EDIT: That last image just loads, I like her face expression and the colour combination. Would be nice to see it done

Hi Witcrack Glad you're well and Congrats to your brother. Thanks for your comments too, I'm planning on taking a break from caricatures and faces for a bit after today. I've just finished my latest commission for a Jimmy White caricature so I will be exploring other areas . Thanks and Cheers!

Hey Angel! just dropping by - heyy great work on Jimmy! really captured him well (if I had any crit it would be just a bit more 'finishing' to the piece as in just tightening highlights and shadows edge etc - but tis only a lil crit as I think it's an ace pic!)

Keep up the great work and having fun!

    Hi angel

sorry for being absent so long. hopefully, you're still posting nice things.

i like the exageration of the 574. The person stays graceful even with so much distortion.

the thumbs are well composed too, is it for a project or illustration ?

    keep well mate

Aww great portraits as always! Characterful with that twinkle of humor

Think it would be great to see you go for it with some loose expressive eviros - adding details and refining where you feel like it. concentrate on feeling and the character of the scene - summer, spring, clear and fresh or warm and cheerful... rocky crags and trees in full leaf ... haha I'm getting all poetic! Have fun constructing landscape with all the components of hills and plains and streams, trees, forests, mountains etc

Might be a nice contrast to the more specific portrait work

    Keep rocking

zou Thanks haha yeah that lady was a surprise, I had to record it for prosperity

The 7Artist7 Aw thanks, that's nice. Thanks very much for the little push to do enviros, you've suggested some good stuff to think about.

update Well...more people . Went to an all day life drawing class today, lots of lovely long poses, the model was lovely to draw. Used watercolour pencil for the first time and did a watercolour, some of the proportions are a bit off I know :s

Was commissioned to do a small sketch of a couple of Partners in the law firm I work at, this is just the initial sketch layout to show the big boss man for authorisation. I'm using these as practices really, even if it doesn't get the go ahead it's all good

I was also asked to put the Snooker Legends together for the client, took alot longer than I thought, next time I do an ensemble I'll do them together first and then split them into individuals live and learn..

    wahhh
so much updates, i can't crit so much.

check the heads of the figures: the proportion and placement seems a bit off. The watercolor is great as usual and proportions are good in this.

you're mastering head caricature and construction, but you should do more rendering. you seem stopping before the render is complete (but the very last couple is well rendered nothing to add)

keep your good, as soon as i finish this stupid month of exams. i'm back to the fun

That last one is spot on! Kahl Drogo is also standing out.
Those composition doodles are interesting. They're surprisingly simple but seem very deliberate. Is that an exercise you were taught somewhere?
Also - love the livedrawing. Perhaps spend more time on planning as opposed to details? They seem very refined for livedrawing.

But obviously, I can't leave without critique. Sometimes your coloured portraits get a little monochromatic. You also use the same colour scheme fairly often. You're getting fairly successful at this one; now expand! Also if you sample from an actual photograph you may notice that there usually is a much wider colour variety in faces. This can really add to the liveliness too.
Actually, something to be wary of when using reference is that press photo's and such are often edited, losing all that detail in the process.

Also, great sketch dump. I like the girl with the 'big hair' for some reason.

I do like the watercolour image - seems nice and fresh.

Thanks Zou I hope I can keep it as fresh when I work on it some more.

Hi Sealegs I remember you too, you do great gestures. Great to see you back and thanks very much

Hi Anthis Thanks very much for the comments and crit I do tend to use any photos I can find on google and some are really too small to get much detail, I should definitely paint from life more or HD photos. The compositional thumbs I just sort of did, just playing around trying to create depth and perspective with simple shapes. Thanks again

Aw shucks thanks gogo Yeah it's a long word, I sometimes wish it could be abbreviated Ooh if you haven't checked out Game of Thrones I really recommend it, it's brilliant!

Thanks very much steveland I had fun painting that.

Sweet caricatures... you've really stepped up your game the last few pages. Congrats!

I see that you're a Sebastian Kruger fan, too. Have you seen much of Todd Schorr's work? Check it out; you may like it.
