The genie piece ended up quite nice But I absolutely love the piece with the armour and mechanical wings

Thanks Quike I put the genie piece up for crit so need to work on some outstanding issues. The armour/wings sketch was just a doodle but I was quite surprised how it turned out, I want to work it up at some point, thanks for the encouragement (p.s if it inspires you then please feel free to paint it up too, we can swop over and crit each others attempts?)

    --------
The link to the crit page for my reference.... http://conceptart.org/forums/showthr...27#post3664927

    Issues to work on:
-Render smoke (finish rendering guys face and beard/hair)
-Draw perspective grid and sort out issues
-Unify colour, pick a dominant colour and a contrast (green/pink)
-Make landscape (and possibly increase genie size?)

A quick Ellen Page tonight, I don't want to over paint so I'm going to back to it tomorrow, but I think I'm getting the hang of colours, I think.

Hey Angela! I've seen/done so little art lately, I'm having a hard time coming up with good crits. I think I need to train my critical eye back up. For now, let me just say I enjoy your watercolours a lot. And Squishy is awesome

The layout for POW69A The New High Priest. It'll make more sense with words, just working on panel compositions and value...

It seems you are about to finish the Wanda piece? Has been a long road, haha. It shows though, those characters are immediately recognizable. Now that I'm looking at it, I can't really figure out the light source. The whole scene seems fairly evenly lit, which may have been tough?

I really like how you're handling depth in your latest caricatures. I had not noticed this before but I think its especially apparent in the last one.

In that last set of panels, the overall value range is very narrow and very high key. I'm not sure whether that's intended (considering the topic). Still, thought I should point it out. May end up being an obstacle!

    Also, really exciting watercolours. Nice!

zou thanks, that's a relief that you think so I'm having fun with this, and feel pumped to do those we talked about if you have time?

anthis Wanda, ah yes! finally lol! So glad they are recognisable, I'm going to have one more session on that soon and finish it, the lighting has been tricky because I've used several references so had to make it up as I went, I'm trying for an underwater feel, if it works Thanks for the crit on the comic values, I've taken it into account and rectified it.

    thanks again friends

    hi angel

    the comic is pretty clear

the last box in second is very similar to the second
same forthe first box in first and second page
of course, it's a matter of taste. you could have done it in purpose

cheers comics are harder than single illustrations

i didn't know you were doing the crimson daggers , they are still active ?
i visited the channel several times, it was not active :p

the pose of the one holding swords seems cool

Thanks zou Good feedback for the comic, I was a bit lazy and copy and pasted the first panel on page 2 :s but I'm going to go over it so it's not as obvious, the last panels were intentional. Yeah, bloodsports is back...the link is here ---> http://crimsondaggers.com/forum/thread-2643.html

I'm doing the next bloodsport now, no. 14 Beastmaster here's my idea at the moment with some thumbs and a quick sketch of Ron from Party Down because I was watching it at the time and he has an awesome nose!

Some more ideas for my beastmaster...the beast he turns into is a bearded dragon (for the only reason that I have one and it's convenient ) anyway it's not much but it's a start...

the character heads u did are very good, you re on the way to get some cool character design. i like the balance between realistic and cartoon

the last sketches are very dynamic , forms and lines

the last with the unfinished look is ACE. a good reminder :'unfinished' sketches are better

wasnt feeling it today, but managed to get a bit done, some armour studies during my lunch and a couple of composition and lighting sketches to try and work stuff out. But I'm feeling really tired today and ended up watching a film while noodling :s I kinda like the beastmaster dude's comp and lighting (if you squint really hard) but the creature isn't working, oh well, it's a learning process, I need to do some more creature anatomy studies and abandon this for now...

Pushing the ideas a bit further before deciding which one to go with. After doing the golem thumbs it became clear that I had more ideas for the glass golem so I'm going with the desert glass theme. Onto the detailed design sketches now

    wow !

those character design roughs are very exciting

the sorceress is somewhat hot for a sorceress :p

anyway the one with the bands seems nice (though they all can be pushed up)

golem has also some nice design

2 and 6 ( the sheet with red and yellow pencil) are perhaps the best in my opinion

the design is great, now it's a matter of good rendering and posing ....

i'm very excited about the outcome of this one

    goood luck
