Haha well that's one book cover more than me!
I'm liking the screencap study in the last post. Nice simplicity to it. Do you feel like you learn more by doing it in only black and white? Also, you should post the original image so I can compare the two![]()

JiR: thank you
Andrew Sonea: I did it mostly for fun and as a morning warm-up. It definitely forced me to draw/compose in terms of shapes and not lines. I kind of applied it in the alien bar sketch below. And here's the screenshot just for youhttp://i.imgur.com/UbC8I.jpg
Some figures construction doodles
And a sketch of a bar scene, just flexing my composition muscles...

Just finished this illustration yesterday, titled "Blooming Maiden".

The Star Wars Cantina music comes to mind looking at the composition practice!

Thanks for the comments!
Here's a new piece, "Giant's Pride". I wanted to create an image that somewhat sympathizes with what would usually be considered the antagonist.

Your illustrations have a really nice tone to them. Great narrative, thats a really admirable trait. It's that sorta thing that gets people "the job" so it's awesome that you have it. Excelent figure studies too. You're doing just fine :]
Vulgar`: thanks man!
Zesiul: thank you
Here's a little test for an approach incorporating an acrylic underpainting
