Can anyone tell me what types of brush this guy is using? (Corel Painter)?

Since playing Persona 3 a couple of quarters ago, I've been trying to emulate this coloring style they use for the game, because I like it a lot, and I think it'll work good for my drawing style. Someone told me that he's definitely using Painter, but I can't quit figure out what brush he's using.

I can find a couple that come close like the Oil camel hair brushes, with 100% opacity, but it's still not quite right. Can anyone help me out here?

Looks like maybe the thick wet camel or wet acrylic. There's a lot more to rendering in Painter than just the brushes, though; to paraphrase Loomis, you might be better off studying the way the artist uses the fundamentals of painting rather than his rendering technique.

Look like regular oil brushes. The oil brushes have a quality that you can adjust that allows paint to be "smeared" at the same time that your place down new color...Also what Atlantis says.

Thanks for the advice guys. From looking at the picture more, I don't see any bristles on the character at all, just really on the background and mainly in the smoke. The best acrylic brush I can use to do this with is the dry brush with a slightly lower feature (edit: the wet brush is even better for that). Only problem with this brush is that it really slows down my computer if I make it larger.

After zooming in on the torso, it just looks like in certain areas, he uses a small brush, and makes several strokes close together so it looks like one large brush stroke. Which just means Atlantis is very correct when he said the way he is rendering is more important than the brush he is using. Thanks again guys.
