Sometimes when sketching I like to have music, but other times I can't get into my art as much as I'd like to when music is playing, I like to find my own rythm when painting or drawing, Unless there are couple really good songs that I'd like to make art to, I prefer to keep the music off.

Just found a cd by a band called hybrid thats pretty awesome. It's a compilation, remixes of orchestration and ambient music, and the second cd is mostly straight trance remixes. Its pretty chill, if thats what your looking for.

Heh, that's only if you're talking about the emo lyrics of DMC 3 and 4. Me? I stick to the first one - the original. No emo/dark singing for me, please. Give me the music like the Nero Angelo battle track or Griffon fight theme.

Since my own creative designs are usually sci-fi craziness with mecha and future soldiers wielding weapons firing glowing blue stuff:
Winter War by Black Sun Empire & Noisia. It really makes me think of future soldiers battling with energy weapons in a Siberian snowstorm. I guess it also helps that I listened to it a lot while playing Timesplitters, but I thought of it quite a bit beforehand.

Although, I do love Sinthetix!

Try some Prodigy. They have high paced fast beats and lots of fire in their music. That's who I use when I want get up and work. I would recommend their album Fat of the Land, but Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned has some decent tracks to it. Plus, very minimal on lyrics.

Another good one is Jamiroquai. His still has some fast beats, but is more calming then Prodigy.

But one thing im sure we already know, don't listen to it if you cant stand it. Like me, I cant stand Eminem or Tool, and im sure alot of people here cant stand the two bands I said. You have to know you enjoy the music to get into the groove of it. So for them most part, just experiment with new music and find the things you like.

I find that usually I like listening to a lot of music with no lyrics or where the lyrics themselves aren't a distraction. Most of the time the genres include soundscape, classical, and maybe some light jazz. I'm really into a lot of soundtrack stuff.

Porcupine Tree's delerium stuff is really good to draw too and it's probably the trippiest music EVER made. My favorite is The Sky Moves Sideways but Voyage 34 is the trippiest thing ever. Both are awesome to draw too.
