bigfooTrooper : Thanks man ! I don't really find hip and legs small, but they are a little bit smaller than in my ref

Clochette : Merci pour tes conseils Il me reste plus qu'a me faire mon ptit planning !!

    JoshK : Thanks man !

Man Made God : Thanks for your advice, And I totally agree with you, when I'm drawing, I find that there is enough contrast, and later, I always find that there is not enough contrast ! And with painting it's the contrary ! My dark colors are right, but light colors are always not enough bright !

    Gerre : Thanks man !!

So today, I was just focusing on right colors and good proportions, instead of making details. So here is my digital studies, About 4 hours. The head is a bit big !

nice colour choices in this last piece, try and use what youve learned on one of your own characters or something, I tried that and it was pretty difficult to adapt what I learnt by studying photos to something in my head but it helped me alot!

    hi walid
you're on the right track, the more you draw and the better you get but remember: no pain no gain

your line quality needs more practicing, draw bigger, use your entire arms to draw line. Draw some 'boring' subject such as cube, cone, cylinder (seriously) and some architecture in really big format (A2 or A3)

    good luck
for composition there is "l'art de la composition" (don't remember author)

Oh that last one was looking kinda good, but lay of the whites! When in doubt, check the target colours with the color picker

Dude, you got to push yourself!
Your studies are very good and you can do them more, i know it.
But don't you stop only doing them, try something other, while in a lack of motivation. Try to customize some brushes, some new techniques or smth, that would give you some joy. The bad days will come and it's nothing today, you will see it in it's all beauty when you'll have deadline on same night and you will have to do lots of work.
Do some works from your imagination too, cause without it you won't get far.
So turn on some good music take a pencil/pen and DO IT!!!!

Hey Walid, thanks for dropping by my sketchie and self-portrait thread. Like everybody says, the boxer looks good! But the head is a bit big. You are using photoshop right? You can just liquify his head a bit smaller. That's the wonder of doing digital painting.

I wanna see more the next time i drop by.
    Cheers!

Pretty much all good, keep this up and your gunna be awesome. One thing though I haven't seen any imaginative crazy stuff... maybe have a little fun on your next post.
    Keep it up!

    bharat : Thanks man !!

Mr.Juicy : Thanks, yeah, creativity is my biggest weakness, but there is no secret, have to draw a lot from imagination to improve creativity

    c@s : Thanks

My57 Thanks ! Yeah, I'll try to keep them up,even if I'm really busy for now !

    PChabot : Merci !

Clochette ! Merci !! C'est chaud en ce moment pour trouver du temps pour dessiner, faut vraiment que je m'organise mieux

    Vorace : Merci beaucoup !!

JohnnyB : Thanks, now, i'm more focused on making some creative stuff, but I'l still study anatomy, composition, ...

shamandalie : Thanks girl !! I don't really like to use liquify tool, or some filters, or anything else exept brushs and color picker !!

Thanks, yeah, have to improve my line !!! I draw too small, my selfportraits are in less than A5 format, so my line doesn't look thin! Have to draw bigger

remmy : Thanks man Yeah, creative stuff just comes !!

I was busy these days, and I wasn't really enjoying what I was doing, you know, everyday doing the same things, it becomes a bit boring, so instead of drawing in my free time, I just travel outside, or searching on CA great illustration, for inspiration, and I also tried watercolor, it was fun but realy ugly, I'll show you some watercolor paintings

But for now, I just have a character design to show you, I know it's far from being original, but I 'm enjoying painting it. It's far from being finished, and I don't know if I'll finished it ( exept the head, that I'll finish )

So I had big trouble finding a good pose, but I really find this one good, head's position was difficult to draw; but I'm quite happy with this one and clothes are sucking ! I really have to think about textures, even if it's difficult !! I'm always using the same brush ! As always, In my head, it's a great ilustrations, with beautiful clothe, and great lighting, but when I paint it, it's far from being what I've imaginated (exept the pose, which really looks like what I've imaginated)! And lighting sucks. There is also a close up of the unfinished face, if you see some mistakes, just comment and skin tones looks wrong

And there is also a basic animation's exercise, a kind of animated perspective It took me one hour to do it, it was difficult to understand how it works Will try to do more animations

on your last painting the head is too small. I think the eyes should be a little smaller, rotated a bit more inward and placed higher in the head (closer to the eyebrows). hope you'll finish it

    Hey there! =)

I gladdens me to see that you're working on anatomy!
Keep that up, as it will provide the foundation needed in all your coming convincing images
Self-portraits are also great for learning facial features, so doing several a week will give you loads( damn, I should follow my own advice >_< )

Keep it up! I'll be back

Gerre : Thanks man ! I'll follow your advices

Gorgoleon :Thanks xD Yeah, Yeah, I agree, torso is so big, I'll fix it. In fact, I think I'll redraw all the body, it will be easier And I will try to do daily selfportraits next week

ReviseTheMethod : Thanks dude ! Yeah, still working on anatomy After learning all anatomy stuff with bridgman, I'll work with Hogarth, to learn How all the muscles work together, and making dynamic poses ! I won't get bored next months

So today, I just made a 2 thumbnails of enviros, and a sucking animation, still working on perspective, how distances affect the size of a ball, and of wourse, on timing and spacing ! I will soon try harder stuff, like walk cycle ! Oh, and I have a lot of fun with SketchUp. It's an awesome software. Maybe I'll try to show you some stuff with Sketchup !

I see that You have strong urge in hard work on self-improvement. This is the most important thing in this game. Just keep working on things that you feel you need to more understand and that's it. I really like those boxers poses. The colors on them are very good and pleasing to watch. Keep going. Ciao!
