Great stuff walid!!! You're improving so much!!!
Just watch some of your head proportions with your anatomy sketches (They look great otherwise!!). As always, you're values are great and I enjoy the rich colors in that still life. keep it up~!

The figures are looking good! Also nice expressions on the last two.

For some of the figures, the proportions are off. I think drawing more through the figure--investigating more of the relationships, flows, basic shapes, musculature, etc.--can remedy this. It will also establish more of the figure's placement in space. Your lines describe a lot of the subtle contours, it's just adjusting where these contours should be. Keep going!

YihyoungLi : thanks for your help ! i'll try to really understand the figure in space ! gesture too !

Vatsel : thanks man ! since your post i did some neck studies and understood new things ^^

    smael : continu, continu !!

Theodora_romania : thanks ! yeah in art school i draw 8 hours from life everyday ^^ that's why i'mm only doing still lifes on ps and characters from mind at home !

    towy : merci monsieur !

dessinateurimpulsif : merci pour ton commentaire ! jvais essayer de faire plus attention aux subtilitésdu corps !

Well this week end, i've been to the angouleme comicon ! It was just amazing to meet bobby chiu, kei acedera, black frog, and aleski briclot, to talk to them, and to get some feedbacks about my work and to get tips for improving well ^^

So here are a few pics of bobby chiu, kei acedera ( with me ) black frog doing a live demo of a marvel cover, while i was talking to him ^^ and aleksi briclot working on a personnal illustration ! It was so inspiring to see them painting and ask them anything i wanted !

I'm also posting some of my latest pieces from the art school ! draperies ( the first one sucks tho, not enough contrasts ) The lines of a cast drawing, values will be on it next week ^^ And some sculptures i did from model, a man and woman's torso !

I also got a few new books ( well not really new now, got them for a few weeks now ^^ )

crits and coments are welcome ! I'm gonna post all my creative drawings a bit later, it's 3 am and i need to sleep a bit ^^

that drapery is awesome! Im seriously jealous that you are (as lolbbq says) mixing with people who will inspire and motivate you to continue your studies. That's definitely the best way to go! I have never seen this sketchbook before, but it looks like its going great.

Can I ask, what is "the animator's survival kit" like? I've never read it, and probably shouldn't buy any more art books, but it looks tempting!

Oh and having just looked through a little more of your SB I have one small crit:

When you are drawing portraits (particularly women) you usually draw the eyes a little too large. Pretty much everyone does this but its a habit to be aware of, becuase you have to fight against the urge to draw them that little bit larger than in reality.

dessinateurimpulsif : ouaip, c'est plutot cool de faire des drapés ! j'aimerais bien connaitre ton forum aussi ! je t'ai envoyé un message privé, mais je ne sais pas si tu l'as lu !

lolbbq : Thanks bro ! Yeah, i hope one day i'll chill with these great artists and everyone will love me, and i'll be famous, and RIIIIICH, MUAHAHAHAHAHA hmm hmm sorry ^^

ThomasM : Thanks for your crits , i really appreciate it ! " animator's survival kit " is a book written by richard williams, a veteran of animation ! This is like the Bible for every students in animation, and even pros ! this is the most informative book i've ever read, tho i never finished it ! There are too much informations , my brain can't handle it ^^

Well, today's update : a failed still life, metalic objects are my biggest weakness ! But nee to try harder ! and 2 stuff from mind ! I think i really need advices about values from mind ^^ For the creature, i just sketched directly with values ^^ It was funny, but the result sucks ^^ have other stuff to scan, but i'm too lazy ^^ anyway, i'm gonne keep it up, hope to hear some advices about values ^^

Great studies man! Love the lines in your imaginative work, specially the creature in your last post. For the figure stuff and self portrait, you're coming along well, but pay more attention to proportion (particularly head size). Don't shy away from measuring to check what you're doing.

Had a good look through your SB and you've improved a lot.

Did you have live models for the torsos? It's fun doing it from a real person, mind you that was 30 years ago.

Man, wish I was lucky enough to get to meat Bobby and Kei! Anyway, though, there's a lot of good work going on here, the drapery studies look really good. Watch the accuracy on the cast drawing though - I would recommend taking a fresh look at it and trying to improve parts that you may have not noticed are off. Be careful with things like the shape of the ear and placement of features!

    Good luck

    hello there!
i think that doing some cast drawings (from photo ref if you can't find a good statue/cast to draw from) would help you a lot with values.
    keep it up!

jeremy swan : thanks man, i relly appreciate it !

Sidharth Chaturvedi : thanks for your helpful crits ! Head size has always been a big issue for me!need to learn anatomy a lot more !!

lolbbq : thanks man ! well, i don't feel like rendering for now, i'm really focused on getting ideas, rather than making a finished pencil stuff, but if a design is looking good, i'll do some rendering over it ^^

dessinateurimpulsif :yooo ! Je confirme, le livre color and light est super cool ( je pense que tu dois déja l'avoir, ca fait environ 3 semaines que t'as posté ce commentaire ^^ )

    in2eternity : thanks !

TheJackal : i think perspective is a big issue for me .. especially when i have to apply it to the figures ... thanks for pointing it out, will def work on it !

    Emil_ : thanks man !!

Black Spot : thanks ! Yes, we had models posing for us for the sculpture class ! i did 3 new sculptures, but didn't take pics .. we did full bodies, it was amazing ^^

Marlee. : Thanks man ! yeah, still some flaws on this cast ^^ but we 're working on a new cast at school ^^ already had my mark for this one

    Aleksi : thanks !

Domaz Thanks ! Yeah man, anatomy is a foundation ^^

xinranliu : thanks for your feedback !

Well, almost a month tht i didn't post, i had big issues with health, migraine crisis for over 2 weeks, and fever, and had a lot of stuff for art school, but well, i have no excuses for not posting ... I was like " well, gotta post everything i've done the past month " but it'd take me a whole day to upload everything, and i'd kill the bandwith, ca would have another black out, and jason would bannish me from this community, so ... i'm only gonna upload creative stuff and doodles i made, as well as digital studies !

I also have several wips on the side, i'm working on a portfolio, and will show you some final illustrations and design as soon as i finish them !

first 3 images are doodles from my moleskine, the first digital is an unfinished study ( the night was falling, didn't have time to finish ^^ ) and last one is a digital sketch, done without lines ... i think i'm gonna stop doing stuff like that, i mean painting without preleminaries lines, because it's just unproductive and a waste of time. i don't have enough skills to work like that !
