Good stuff man! I like the different eyes you drew up there and the chick with the sword is cool too. Your poses are looking good too but you should do some hand and feet studies. Do some other anatomy as well and really work on making your poses look more life-like. Rendering is a good way to do that. Keep it up though I see improvement in these pages

Your figure work is getting a lot better. Next time you do them try to draw them as 3d objects instead of outlines. focus on these, and I think your stuff will take a huge leap.

    darknight : thanks dude

jackpot_anjr90 : Haha, yeah, have to work on so much things, but yeah, i'm begin to understand hand's shapes, but i still sucks at feet, so i'll def do more studies, i'll be back to bridgman too, i missed him :p Anyway, thanks !

FraserMcT : Thanks honey Yeah, i'm beginning to more think about the shapes and stuff rather that outlines !

Wow, nice self portraits. The cranium on the paintings looks a bit wacky, perhaps a bit too far to the right?

And your thread title is hilarious....

Some great stuff in here dude, you pretty much got all bases covered: perspective, anatomy, life, imagination, everything! If you can keep it up you will go far.

I see you suffer from hesitant line syndrome like me, I've found either slow down and think the stroke through, or speed up and get a bit looser to be good solutions to this (when I remember to do it).

I really like that study you did of the ball in that photograph, I'll definitely be trying that one so thanks!

Looking forward to your Newborn entry, keep it up.
    Peace

Like dan said you're kickin' it the right way here, just need to keep pushing, observing noticing etc.

one thing that might help is when you do a self portrait (assuming it's from a photo) post up your reference too. It's hard to pin down exactly what's going good and what can be improved when everything's out of context. I see that your eyes are becoming more natural and less open and this is great. Other than that though we might be able to give more specific advice on observation etc. with ref pictures

hey firstly thanks for checking by my sketchbook, kind words

Progress is evident in here dude, looking good, keep going and pushing

jus a lil tip, when doing those self portraits, try not to use solid black, instead just go for a dark near black/grey, as black makes things look rather flat and have no form, and not many things are actually true black in real life.
    Try it.

    keep up the good work

    All the best dude

Like that digital SP, it's another step up from your other SPs. That gleaming object you painted (sorry, i can't tell what it is ) could do with some more defined edges. Keep up the pace, you're doing very well.

Sup dude, great progress happening, loving the sb's and sp's I strongly agree with miles, you do have a tendency to draw eyes a little to big, and on a personal note from me to close to the nose. But yeah building up a darker background defiantly helps me esspecially if its a portrait and your tring so hard to tone the dam thing! make life easier on your self, if you layers you can always change the backgroud later and ajust the forground levels acordingly. Anyway keep it up and don't steel peoples titles ha ha, but I'm sure everyone one wants to work for massive black.

Really nice eyes you've done, liking the character poses too.
    Keep working at it.

I feel I'm always suggeting this but maybe try some skeletal forms, it helped me no end when I was trying to figure out stance / proportion

Hey Walid... man your determination is impressive! What a crazy ton of work you are showing... and tons of improvement too. Keep it up! As far as critiques go, I would like to see you work more in pencil (or maybe just scan more of that? haha) because your digital work (both tonal stuff and colours) is stronger than your pencil linework and tones.

    Keep it up bud!

    hey wali.
really nice sketches, your proportions are looking good and your digital work is getting nice.
your brushstrokes look real effiecient in that self portrait, just i think you could have defined the planes even more clearly (darker value on the side facing away for example).

and shalite said to say thank you to you for nudging her to contact me on my da. ;P

so thanks, it's good to be back.

    Nice environment sketch.
One thing I would note about your figures are that they look quite stiff. I would advise doing some gestures, and hold your pencil like you would a paintbrush, or side held.
Self portrait is a huge improvement, glad you managed to push through the phase you had with a square on face.

    Keep at it!

nice going here dude, dig all those studies..the bargue stuff is great.
by simplifying using those straight edges and angles makes it easier to understand the planes and the general shape/pespective. at the same time your edges gain a lot of character..
try use this device every time you start something

Sorry I haven't posted more, there's some real improvement in your self portraits and your figures. I can tell you're paying more attention to form now, your linework is more subtle, nice work! Make sure you keep drawing hands and feet, you seem to be missing them in those figure drawings... even just block them in as simple shapes, but don't hide them!

I like your rendering on these recent ones! Hatching in correlation to planes is interesting, sort of 'sculpting' with a pencil. May i suggest some blind contours? Looks good in here, keep up the hard work!

wow I"m really digging the value studies! With your figure drawings, it seems your thinning out the arms a bit too much a they get closer to the hand, just watch out for that
