    Hey Twitch,
Thanks for dropping by and for your kind comments.
    Lotsa cool stuff in here!
    Lovely hand drawings.
And what a cool lunch "sketch"!!
    http://conceptart.org/forums/attachm...1&d=1223950682
Very nice fresh portrait. Simple, but it's all there: structure, value, color. The kind of piece that is subtle but, knowledge and thought weave throughout. And the texture in the background adds just the right amount of interest to the entire sketch.
Aaahh, sigh......... such a cool chow #131. Love the face. I'm itching to get back into some digital practice. And this one is really poking me in the ribs.
Will answer your question back in my SB,......soon as I prepare some class homework exercises and post 'em.

    Awesome work!

I'm going to use you as a primary inspiration for improving my study habits, if you don't mind. If there's anything you can do to help me out in what you think I should be exercising, please let me know in my (crude) sketchbook thread. I'm interested in trying master copies for one thing - if you could suggest a guide for doing that I'd appreciate.

Basically, man oh man, if you have any tips or could do some mentoring/teaching here please let me know. (On that note your demonstrations showing the stages of your drawing are GREAT!)

Thanks Twitch for the advice, Ive seen alot of people working with only one layer, and I thought that was the golden way but I guess learning how to work with multiple layers is the golden way to learn how to use photoshop, thanks again.

DARAF & Bagg- Hopefully this new one will get me away from that same ol' color scheme

Sublimus, Walid Dm, andrea.bianco & D@niel- Thanks guys!

roidvoid- Hahah glad you're enjoying them omg

Enydimon- Thanks! I need to figure out how the whole subscription thing works myself.

Equality72521- Hahahaha that's definitely a first time I've heard that comparison before. Thanks, I think

ozan- Np, glad you found some you like

    DStraX- Have fun with them!

Kian- Thanks man, I've been loving your stuff.

Hideyoshi- Oy, you totally put me to shame with that test you did w/ the brushes. Can't wait to see what you do next. Also, thanks for the explanation on your ID stuff.

trevor- I gotcha brushes right heah! Hahah I'm so bad at remembering to actually tell people I know about this stuff. Btw, I think the world is due for another Trevor update Where's the new stuff!

liam.c- Thanks I hope you find a use for them. Nice stuff in your SB btw!

AztcFireFlower- Thanks! I hope you do start on some digital works, if you're itching to do them. I'd love to see your approach.

Animation Idiot- I just checked out your sketchbook and it looks like you're on the right track as far as studies go.. just do lots more! If you start on a master study shoot me a PM and I'd be happy to give advice. When you start one, just make sure you block out the big masses of the painting first. Squint a lot and don't worry about brushstrokes or any details right away.

JesArt- yeah if you can keep that discipline, I think it will save you a lot of headaches in the end

Okay, have some free time now! Just for kicks, here's a few photos from a couple recent trips. I make no claims to be a good photographer by any means, but it's a fun hobby.

The sketch I started on tonight.. been really inspired by the Maschinen Krieger-type models lately and that kind of fed into this. This is just a beginning... I think I'd like to take some more sessions on this one and really finish it off.

It's always more humiliating when you get shot by pink lasers.

dude awesome painting man, I can feel those soldiers thinking "oh shit I'm outta here!"

I'm putting off that alien for now. Kinda lost motivation on that one, there is a lot of mistakes with how the shoulder connects and the joints of the arm and I have a lot of other stuff piling up =/

that last painting is great the movement in the falling mech and running troops is superb.

the only thing I could crit on it is the guy on the right tends to destroy the scale of the mech, he looks to big to be where he is.

p.s. love the stilgar really sweet character design

I love it, bud! Looking forward to the finish!
Composition works nicely and the hazy atmosphere is spot on.
Maybe you could change the far-left guy's position and posture for variety/randomness since he looks like a smaller similar version of the main soldier, but I am sure you'd have noticed that yourself eventually.
Oh yeah, those photos are very impressive, superb detail and composition.
