My portfolio's status is still "Outstanding" on Access Sheridan.
Ahhhhhhhhhhh. -runs around panicking-
hahaha, don't worry! i was also nervous about my portfolio status being outstanding last year, which is why i emailed them and they said that it takes a while for the status to be updated. i'm sure if you included the sheet with all your information, along with putting your name and student number on the back of all your pieces you have nothing to worry about![]()
That makes me feel better.I really hope they update it soon though. Every little thing is freaking me out right now because I just WANT TO KNOW. I'm sure everyone here sympathizes.
I've been accepted into Fundies... I don't want to sound like an ingrate, but I really don't want to do a whole year of fundies. D:
By the way, what is the best place on this forum to upload my portfolio? They're bad photos with my shadow in them lolol so I didn't want to make a new thread just for it.
i had that same feeling last year, but don't feel discouraged if you don't get in. art fundamentals is a step which most people have to take to get into animation, from what i've noticed. that's not to say that just because you go through art fundies you'll get into animation!

I made a temporary blogspot and uploaded my portfolio. Please tell me what you think? :/
Thanks!![]()
Im not gonna lie I always doubt my abilities >.< and I really don't know much about digital drawing but I try haha when I hear about people posting digital art I grow abit smaller lol
@Cui - I think yours looks great. I think you'll do especially well on line quality! I'm sure you'll get mostly 3s and 4s.
I decided to upload my Illustration portfolio like Cui, so please take a look at the portfolio and tell me how it is.I'm so nervous, cant stop checking this thread. I probably should have done that like a month ago.

@ J.Cui - nice job with your storyboard, like the backgrounds especially, also good idea putting in caricatures, i'm sure they'll love that...like your animals too...
@ Mosishmon - never knew a couch could look so interesting, overall i like the way u sketch with the pencil , very stylistic...Also, it looks like you sketch so effortlessly...like barely to none at all erasing?
^ Just curious, what are both of your backgrounds in Art ?
(Art High-school?-Art Fundies?- pure hobby?-etc.)

guys, I think I know why they take so long...(approx. a month) to get back to us animation / illustration people... (lets be honest, it shouldn't take a whole 3-4 weeks for them to grade our portfolios, afterall, they give it back the same day)...
i've been thinking, maybe it's because they are just so damn cheap... and i elaborate... it takes approx. 3-4 weeks to send out mail internationally (concerning the international applicants)... when its done by regular mail...OBVIOUSLY they're not going to pay EXPRESS Post right? So to be fair to the international applicants as well as the local applicants, our wait is just especially extended so that it's a fair and equal wait between those here in Canada and those overseas.
So basically its all u international applicant's fault. lol jking.
Thanks guys for the comments.
@ HocusPocus- I do erase but like 5 to 6 times for each drawing, more than that I feel its going to get messy so I should start over again. For example, the car drawing. I failed two times but the third time it worked.
I never had any backgrounds in art. I just started to draw probably a year ago and sometimes 8 hours a day in the summer! I asked for help in school but they were not willing to help me at all. I remember I showed this portfolio to my life drawing teacher and she said "ok, umm... it's not bad" and I was so disappointed. My visual art teacher said I like your paper( the brand of that paper) and I was like O.O.So rude.
I don't think it takes 3-4 weeks to send mail internationally except if you live in an island in the middle of the pacific!
With UPS from France to Canada it takes 1-3 days and with normal post service it takes 3-5 days..
okay but since they give their response by internet first I still don't think that's why it takes so much time! You'll know if you're accepted first with the sheridan access thing and then you'll get your portfolio scores by mail.
I think it's more of a process thing. They need to go over every portfolio and I don't think they review the drawing test part on these days since they take them out, right? And then they still need to review every mailed in portfolio and then enter the scores on the computer and do other stuff I don't know about but still it seems a lot of work to me!
Here in France they give you the results 2-3 months after! Okay people in France don't work and are always on strikes but still ^^
About 20 more days to go! D:
aaahhh so stressful! I need to find something to do >.<

I am all theses things and more...
Hey guys (: Gah, isn't it crazy that we only have a couple of weeks left to wait?!
Anyway, I was too excited to show everyone on dA my portfolio..so here's the link to my portfolio folder if you guys want to check it out aha (: http://nicay.deviantart.com/gallery/33635365
My WORST part is the room drawings -_- I really hated how they turned out..more so the full view, but otherwise, I'm pretty happy with it ^_^ Although I'm probably going to hate it once I see everyone elses portfolio xD
I live on an island in the Atlantic very close to the US, and it took a month exactly for my first letter from Sheridan to get here.
But it has nothing to do with international mailing. In fact, when I got into Art Fundamentals they auto emailed my acceptance with instructions that I have to specifically request a physical version of my acceptance.
I think it really does take a month to mark 1000 portfolios fairly! Especially because it's only a handful of people probably doing the marking, and they spread them out a bit more than they do on portfolio days. And then there's the sorting and archiving and inputting. Blech, what a pain.
Hey all! I hope everyone did great on their portfolios this year.
I have a quick question. I was wondering if anyone knows the scores for acceptance into the Illustration program? I saw other people with example score sheets, but I never received one
I heard that last year the score to get on the waiting list was 49/100, and I can't recall the score to get a firm admit. So I was just wondering if anyone knows the scores for this year? Thanks!
Hi artstudent08!
I think we will only know when we will get our portfolio score sheet =(
