At first people were wary of the destructive new addition to the once bustling market square. Its unending glow and weird humming noises made many fearful and suspicious.

Their attitudes changed when the rains came. As the crater began to fill with water, an energy filled the air. Local mystics began to preach of the warm ponds miraculous healing powers. Soon the ruined craft was seen as a gift from the gods, and became a place of pilgrimage for those hoping for blessings from above.

Chupacabra, longshao. I like the idea of a 50s noir sci-fi in chupacabras and it has a good sense of scale.

Longshao has a great atmosphere, classic sci-fi setting. You can almost feel the warmth from the crashed vessel.

Comments on others later, great round by all !

I know it was a multi vote, but before the poll went up I already decided I would vote for corrick...

Think the composition, mood and style work really well, and it stands out from all the other entries for not being such 'classic' sci fi (or at least the kind of stuff around these days).. as in, most people went the typical futuristic sci fi look, really hi tech, futuristic etc...

Khan's also stood out, but I thought that it didnt work too well in comparison.. There doesn't seem to be much thought in the ship/engine design and doesn't have the charm of corrick's painting, which I thought almost had a pixar-esque quality to it.

Liked the mood of gaius', but thought there could have been more 'crash site'...

Would have voted for hideyoshi and ev too, but as with the others, despite the quality of these two, I just thought they were both more of the same kind of standard sci fi, although hide's has a cool ship design. i'm not making my point as well as i'd like, 'cause i'm not saying I don't like these pieces, they're great... Corrick's just stood out the most.

hellz yeah multi-vote, good thing too cause there are WAY too many great pieces. The only one that has my vote for sure though is Corrick. When I decide who else I am voting for, and actually cast them all, I will leave some feedback for everyone that entered. Should be tonight or tomorrow.

In the meantime let me just say... AWESOME round!!!

    Awesome entries so far !!!
I voted Chupacabra, Hideyoshi, /ev, Longshao and Gaius.

Khan : I like the shot, the light and the retro feeling.
Hideyoshi : The town is great, awesome rendering and the ship is cool too!
/ev : Oh damn !! There is a drama lighting in your picture, it reminds me an old master painting : beautiful!
Longshao : What a crash! I like the ambiance, this red works so far!
Gaius : Nice composition, I like that the crash is not the first thing we read in the picture. It gives more importance to the enviro, that's great imo.

Sorry for not commenting the others entries, they were so high level too! Congrats everyone!

I decided to vote for /ev, Chupacabra and Gaius. All the entries were of such a high standard in this one that it was near impossible to choose one, so the multi vote was a godsend!
In the end, all the entries were so hot that it just came down to my stlistic preference, and these 3 appealed strongest to me in that arena

    Well done everyone!!

Great entries!! I decided to choose just 3, but i could keep on voting, hehe...

Chupacabra Gaius and /ev entries kicked some serious arses... Glad i didn´t have to pick just one of them.
